Oil Cleaning Tips or IOW : Clean My Mouse !
Yeah what it say, my mouse and USB controller are oily, i dunno how, probably my kid brother or something.
Right now whatever i try to clean them just won't remove the "greasiness". Cleaning tips please? (Remember, its a mouse and a controller..So no soap and water !) How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |

You can always dissamble the hardware and remove the bits of electronics that could be harmed by 'soap and water'. Then clean everything and assemble your input hardware.
I often use petroleum ether (I hope this is the correct term) to clean hw surfaces. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
i dont think thats a real thing, but i'll check, anyone else?

The easiest thing would probably be to disconnect it from your computer and wipe the mouse and controller off with a cotton ball soaked in isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. As an added bonus, cotton balls and alcohol are dirt-cheap.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
A q-tip might actually work better than a cotton ball since it's less likely to fall apart during the cleaning.

I use some Clorox wipes to clean down my mouse.
