Oil Cleaning Tips or IOW : Clean My Mouse !

Yeah what it say, my mouse and USB controller are oily, i dunno how, probably my kid brother or something.

Right now whatever i try to clean them just won't remove the "greasiness".

Cleaning tips please? (Remember, its a mouse and a controller..So no soap and water !)

How ya doing, buddy?

You can always dissamble the hardware and remove the bits of electronics that could be harmed by 'soap and water'. Then clean everything and assemble your input hardware.

I often use petroleum ether (I hope this is the correct term) to clean hw surfaces.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The easiest thing would probably be to disconnect it from your computer and wipe the mouse and controller off with a cotton ball soaked in isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. As an added bonus, cotton balls and alcohol are dirt-cheap.

A q-tip might actually work better than a cotton ball since it's less likely to fall apart during the cleaning.

I use some Clorox wipes to clean down my mouse.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
