Lag (spike)
Okay, here's the story. I bought wireless internet. I bought a Linksys-G broadband router and a Linksys-G PCI card. That setup couldn't get me enough distance. So, I bought a Linksys-N PCI card and used it with G router, which is perfectly doable. That setup enable me to have internet provided I left my window open at all times so the signal could get to me (I am in a backyard recreation room receiving from my house).
But it's too cold to leave the window open all the time. So, I decided to buy the N router. I hooked it up and now I can get service without having to leave my window open. Yay. Happy ending.
EXCEPT FOR THE LAG
With this new setup, I now get short lags. They seem to be sporatic and only last for maybe 1/3 of a second, but that's enough to throw my mouse off when I'm trying to click something, or when I'm playing a game, enough to cost me the entire game automatically in that 1/3 of a second.
What gives? I bought a better router and now my internet is worse. Does anybody know some things that can cause lag spikes? Just to add, when I bought the new N card, I completely uninstalled the old one first, and the same goes for the N router. I just can't figure it out. The lag has even been happening while I'm typing here. It happens as long as I am connected to the internet.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
