Fragile

I saw screens for this the other day and my interest has been piqued since then. A collaborative effort between the creators of Venus & Braves and tri-Crescendo, Fragile has been dubbed a "ruins-exploration RPG". None of the elements shown so far make it seem much like an RPG, but a mod can go ahead and throw this in the RPG forum if they think otherwise.

Anyway. The game is set in the near future in which a mysterious fog has blanketed the earth and darkened the sky. You take the role of Seto, a young boy in search of other people in the world. The game will apparently have a strong emphasis on ruins.

Screens:

The official website has a streamed video and some nice background music, but doesn't do much to explain what the game is all about. It seems like survival-horror at first glance, but that music and the labeled genre say otherwise.

EDIT: Now with Youtube love!

YouTube Video

Thoughts? I normally don't make threads about games that have virtually nothing known about them, but this seems so promising.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Ooh, now that looks like my kinda game: atmospheric and spooky. Just hope they won't bugger it up.

It might just be the grainy, small images, but after seeing games like Galaxy... Why should it have to look like a first-gen PS2 game? :/

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

That girl reminds me of Chloe from Noir. The grainy feel looks nice but I suspected alot more from Bandai Namco. Wonder what gives other than the cool dark backgrounds.

FRAGILE`‚³‚æ‚Ȃ猎‚Ì”pšÐ`

Quote:
The recently revealed Wii RPG Fragile will star a young man named Seto, who lives in a dark, semifuturistic world that has gone through some recent crisis. The ruins that RPG Land noted would be explored within this game, therefore, are in fact ruins of modern cities and towns. More details after these screens:

(8 Screenshots)

The Wiimote will be used for certain objects in Seto’s inventory, such as a metal detector and the flashlight (seen in various screenshots). Players will point the Wiimote where the light should shine, for example. It is therefore presumed that the Wii nunchuck will be used for navigation.

Following the classic advice of “Walk softly and carry a big stick,” Seto carries a stick and uses it to ward off enemies. Right now, it’s not entirely clear what types of enemies there are or to what extent the stick can thwart them, but it’s said that ghosts appear.

...
Fragile is set to release in Japan at an unspecified time in 2008.
Teaser trailer at the official site, or YouTube it here.

Good to see another Wii RPG in the works. This is by the folks that made Venus and Braves, a great RPG that unfortunately never made it out of Japan.

I was speaking idiomatically.

http://www.gamingforce.org/forums/vi...1-fragile.html

Generic Badass made an attempt, just pointing it out for any actual authority figure for good prosperity. I don't know, I want to see the game in action at this point. Game advertising and buzz are an efficient machine of deception. PR these days is just too good to take these kinds of chances on words and videos.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Sorry.
I only checked the RPG forum (which is generally the only place I post)

"And don't apologize."

Especially not when Generic Badass likes putting shit in the hands of mods or something to that extent. INTERPRET THIS. I don't own a Wii yet, but more games on the horizon is whetting my appetite or some shit. Again, it's a wait and see on this particular release.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Didn't do anything wrong, Hindman. It is labeled as an RPG. It just doesn't look like one to me, at the moment.

Well, Rotor, look at it! How the fuck does it look like an RPG right now and not like Silent Hill meets Luigi's Mansion? And what the hell kind of genre is "ruins-exploration RPG"? Answer me these questions.

How ya doing, buddy?

GB: I think it's just that thing JP devs do where they're so excited about their new game that they make up a subgenre for it. Like how Square Enix was all like "Dirge of Cerberus is a GUN ACTION RPG!" or some crap. (I wonder if they knew how dumb that sounded.)

According to Famitsu, "Ruin Exploration" seems to be Namco Bandai's way of saying "Dungeon Crawler." I guess we'll see how legit that is once the gameplay videos start showing up.

Maybe he means the girl on the website? I don't know what Noir is, so I never knew for sure.

I hope they can manage giving the characters moving shoulder blades in this game. Eternal Sonata is like playing with stiff action figures. Looks interesting otherwise.

Eeeeoooouuugh you guys! I was going to close the second thread, but if we combine powers the thread will seem large! Like a house! And when people come on in for the open house inspection they'll be all "fuck this is joint's a bit messy and confusing!" and I'll say "tee hee" while covering my mouth and blushing because my pants are completely out the door!

Someone else with more Aaarr Pee Gee knowledge can chuck this in that section if they want, this doesn't seem anything like one to me. Although it does have a gender confused main character.. but that could mean it's also a fighting game or a shoot 'em up! Maybe it's a combination. Maybe maybe maybe.

Music's nice!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
