Video Card Issue

I have an issue with my video card that came up recently that I'm wondering if you guys can help me with.

I just recently purchased a new ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 521MB AGP Graphics card from new egg. I am using a Nvidia chipset motherboard and my previous graphics card was a Nvidia Geforce FX 5900.

I have never experienced installing a different brand of graphics cards, but I didn't think it would cause this much trouble.

I began uninstalling all my old Nvidia Display drivers, and once done I proceeded to turn off my computer. I installed my new video card, but try as I may, I can't get the computer to recognize the new hardware.

I think at this point I have a few ideas of what may be the problem, but I'm not sure. For one, my BIOS is a few years old. It could be having compatibility issues with my motherboard. Two, and I don't think this is likely, but can you put ATI cards into a Nvidia based board? I think I've read somewhere that this shouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, the bottom line is, I can't get my computer to recognize my new video card. Do any of you have any suggestions as to what I should do?

Here are my specs. I apologize about the huge chunk of text that is going to be posted here:

At least for windows the uninstallation of graphics drivers removes only a tiny part of the things that the driver installtion routine does to the system (apart from copying files). Google for some tools to clean your system (especially windows registry) from old gfx driver entries and such. There should be some tools out there.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Alright, I downloaded a program that deletes all my drivers that I specify. I will try and plug the video card back in and see if that works.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
