Moniter = Gameing Outside of PC??

I really want to Hook up my Gamecube and PS2 and Xbox and stuff to my Moniter, But the first thing is WERE do I get the adaptor to do this and SECOND, Can I use the regular Red, White and Yellow hook ups? Or do I need the High Defintion Wires??? Becuase then thats means I'm outta luck for Gamecube... Seeing as Nintendo removed that input.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I believe you need to have a capture card for this or an S-video hookup. I'm pretty sure thats what you need, but I could be wrong.

And no, you don't need HD cables. Once you get the capture card, you can plug in your video (yellow) cable in the card and the audio cables go into your soundcard. YAY!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Or you need a VGA adapter of some kind. I'm not sure where you can find one in this country though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

uhh... no?

Red/white cables don't go into a soundcard at all. You COULD plug them straight into your speakers, though.

Go buy a cheap TV tuner card. Any will do. As long as it has a Svideo in.

You do not want to use composite (the 'yellow wire'). The picture and quality will look horrible. So when you buy that TV tuner pick up a PS2 Svideo cable as well. Once you've got those things install the TV tuner card and plug in the PS2 to it.

Now, you can either use the software that comes with the Tuner card or Use Dscaler.

I would suggest using DScaler, http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/ . It will give you a better quality picture and has filters you can use to help fix some of the ugly the PS2 will now be showing.

The filters I use are:

Greedy2Frame ( chroma set to 8, luma set to 12)
Sharpness (set to default)
Temporal Noise reduction (I have this set to default. You can go lower if you like)
Gamma (set to default)

To use Dscaler you'll have to make sure the card you get is compatible. But that shouldn't be too hard to do. If all else fails you can check the list on Dscaler's site for a list of compatible cards.

I would like to really stress that hooking the PS2 up to your monitor will not look fantastic. By doing this you will expose just how bad the quality of the PS2's picture really is. Remember, the PS2 is meant to be ran on regular TVs.

As for the Xbox.. last I checked there was already a cable and an adapter you can use to connect the console to things like computer monitors. Someone else will have to answer that.

I used to use an AverMedia TVBox 9 to run stuff to my CRT. It was nice in that it didn't require my PC to be on in order to work, and it's split screen was very good. Using this device I had a PS2, PC, and cable on my one CRT monitor.

Honestly... The whole reason I wanted to put the thing up was mainly for the Gamecube, I'd love to see games like Metroid Prime looking really clear, And titles like Mario Sunshine looking even more colour full even Resident Evil. I'd love to on my Flat Screen... But I know PS2 has too many jags so that might be a problem.

I have this vga adapter and plugging my ps2 in it certainly does look nice on an LCD. Unless you're seriously lacking space or big TVs I wouldn't bother as the effect of the console is then limited to such a small screen. Resolution of this model only does 1024 x 768 as well so the bigger the LCD then you start having bad images doesn't matter on CRTs though). It's just not the same when compared to a big screen TV with a decent sound system even though the image is better.
