This is a nice way to spam, isn't it?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Um, if giving you a link to free music from what will probably be the game of the year is spam, dunno what isn't. It's not like he posted it with some misleading topic title.

The score is actually pretty sweet. I hope they release more MP3s in the future! Not everyday you get some gothic orchestral music. Kinda silly that they just included period music on the LE CD.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Actually, Grawl's got a point. Not that it's spam, it was just posted in the wrong forum (this is more suitable for My Stuff if all that's being posted is a download link =/).

It's a "six of one, half-dozen of another" choice here. It's a My Stuff sort of post but the intended audience is here.

I say that it's fine where it is. This skirts being spam by being on-topic and of recent interest. There also doesn't seem to be a supercedent intent to profit by the link.

Just download the album and stop member-moderating so much, cripes.

How ya doing, buddy?

^Seriously.

Kudos to Irrational/2K for releasing this. It's good stuff, but with only 12 short tracks, I'm left wanting more. I can understand there not being much, though - with this game it's mainly ambient noise/strings or period music, I would imagine.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
Check out my original music at my Soundcloud page!

Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012):

SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?

Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

Wow, this is some impressive, challenging music--not the kind of thing you'd usually expect to hear in a sci-fi project (and about 360ยบ from System Shock's hard-edged techno sound).

I was reminded of Alien and Aliens more than anything else, especially the skittering strings and pounding percussion. Cohen's Masterpiece (my pick for the best track) was a terrific, almost Romantic piano piece, and The Dash and All Spliced Up offer some terrific action music.

I'd definitely love to hear more of this--but is there any more to hear?

There is a fun interview with the composer, Garry Schyman, here:
Interview with BioShock composer Garry Schyman

(I have nothing to do with music4games, I'm just saying...)

I agree track #8 is the jewel of the set.
Here's what Schyman had to say on it:
