Is this eBay seller trustworthy?

http://myworld.ebay.com/import-king/

Has anyone bought from this seller before? I don't have any game soundtracks and I'd like to start collecting them one by one.....starting with FF7 of course, since it's the soundtrack that really got me into game soundtracks in the first place. Say what you want about how it's crappy or overrated, I have very fond memories of this soundtrack and I'd love to have it in my collection.

But I don't know....this guy is selling FF7 OST for $21.99 with free shipping.....sounds fishy. And from what I hear, bootlegs (especially well-disguised bootlegs) are very common in the game soundtrack world. Can someone help me out here who knows their shit when it comes to online soundtrack purchases? I really want the OST, but $40 seems a bit steep for songs I've heard a million times. Welcome to the world of import soundtracks, right?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yep welcome to the "expensive" (depends on your perspective) world of game soundtrack. At first sight, this guy is selling bootlegs products. I'd never buy any soundtrack from ebay because of that risk it implies, anyway.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Is there a site you'd recommend with cheap prices but no risk of bootlegs?

Additional Spam:
Well crap....I just found out the Sonic Adventure soundtrack is obsolete now. I've been meaning to buy it for about, oh, six years now and just never got around to it. Sucks. :-\

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

When you're starting out on building your game music cd collection, use any of these reliable and trusted online shops, as they always have genuine items.

www.cdjapan.co.jp
www.gamemusic.com
www.play-asia.com
www.vgmworld.com

If you want to find some used-album deals from other game music fans, instead of ebay, visit the 'Marketplace Forum' of Soundtrackcentral.

Congrats on starting your collection!

Thanks. Play-Asia has some amazing deals, but I wasn't sure if they were legit or not. FF7 OST for $30? Heck yes!

I was speaking idiomatically.

There's also a blacklist of bootleg manufacturers on Chudah's Corner:
http://www.chudahscorner.com/referen...ce=bootleggers

There's pretty much three things to check when looking into buying a VGM CD:

1) Publisher
2) Catalogue number
3) Price

If the price looks too good to be true, then it probably is. If I see something for $20 or less it's almost always bootlegged.

EDIT: Haha, Sonic Adventure. Good luck finding that one. I've been wanting it for a while now too but I can't afford to shell out $50 for that thing. =(

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

if you still REALLY want to shop from eBay, take a look at the pictures, if there are any and take a look at where they're coming from. if they're coming from China i wouldn't trust it. most likely it's a bootleg. i've gotten anime from eBay before and they all turned out fine. they were from the USA and Hong Kong (i think). but if you look at the pictures, usually you can tell if it's fake or not. if it's a CD and has Chinese writing on it when it's a Japanese/Korean/English/etc. CD, it's most likely a bootleg.

of course, don't take my word for it. i'm just looking at this from a very small amount of experience.
