Recommend DVD Ripping/Burning Software
I've been using DVDShrink of quite some time now, and DVDFab Decrypter for the DVD's that DVDShrink is too out of date to rip. I'm ready to move on. I'm not a fan of DVDFab Dercrypter, it's sort of buggy and sometimes its speed gets infinitely slower over the period of ripping. Anyway... what do you use? Does it satisfy your needs?
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I would just continue using those programs but with the addition of RipIt4Me. It will locate and work with protected sectors and I have yet to discover a DVD it couldn't break through (which may change as the year marches on but it's a great solution in the interim). Of course, DVDShrink or DVD-Decrypter work perfectly most of the time so I rarely have to make use of RipIt4Me.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
DVDShrink & ImgBurn are protect for most dvd.rarely to use Alcohol 120

I used to use DVDShrink, but it gives poor quality as it transcode video instead of re-encoding it.
I use DVD Decrypter to rip. DVDRebuilder with Procoder to re-encode the movie. (takes 2-4 hours) Then burn with IMGBurn. Quality over Speed. I don't rip a lot of newer movies. Most movies that I rip go fine through DVDDecrypter. However, I did have some trouble with trying to rip Casino Royale. I did a google search on how other people ripped it, and finally had to use RipIt4Me to do it. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

If you're using DVDShrink to spit out regular disc images like ISO, I like InfraRecorder as a good general-purpose burning program. It has the added benefit of being free.
