Mozilla is DRIVING ME CRAAAAAAAAAAAZY!!

I'M REALLY STARTING TO FREAKING HATE THIS PROGRAM!!! I'm on the verge of exploding..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Let's see - if I visit Youtube... Mozilla freezes, if I visit Gamespot... Mozilla freezes, if I visit Megaupload... Mozilla freezes, if I visit any non-pre-1995 site Mozilla freezes

Sometimes I get a a "shockwave flash" error and after a few seconds "error" and it shuts down

NO, NO, NO, NO - I DON'T have spyware or viruses!

I have windows xp home and a HP computer that has good stats but I wish I could go back into the past and kept the money instead

Now the "shockwave flash" error is bull! I uninstalled Mozilla and re-installed - same error... got rid of Shockwave and brought it back - same error... did the same with Flash but flash uninstalls half-way... freezes and doesn't go beyond that (but I still assume that it did uninstall)... I tried reinstalling it... it goes a 10th way through... freezes and that's it....

So now what????

Get Safari®

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Are you using Mozilla, as in the Mozilla Application Suite (which is no longer maintained as Mozilla, it is now SeaMonkey)? Or are you referring to some Mozilla-based browser, such as Firefox?

First off, uninstall any add-ons that you have with the program (test), and then themes (test). Then uninstall, and wipe everything off the folder clean. Reinstall.

That's all I can think of.

If not Firefox, try Avant or Opera.

I was speaking idiomatically.
It turns out that today is opposite day, so all of what you have said is true, so you should probably just go.

^LOL I did that about 10xxxxxxxxxx times and it's still the same... now the new and cool development - can't install Flash anymore <.< Uninstalled Firefox, went to the folder and COMPLETELY deleted it, got rid of flash and shockwave... even java <.< And the same old thing... now the problem with flash

Yes it's Mozilla Firefox... sry it's just Mozilla's sooo irritating lately... can't open up any non-text site without some sort of freeze going on

@Grawl Sry was in to watch a movie I had rented...

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Firefox is slow and is a memory hog. At least you could be a little insightful as to why Safari sucks (in your opinion), instead being a general derelict.

I'm currently using Seamonkey 1.1.2 running on a 32bit linux kernel. I never had any real problems with the Mozilla engine until I started to install plugins, namely the Flash plugin. Now most of the time I close the last tab that uses flash to render something the browser window freezes and doesn't update gfx anymore. System shows no CPU usage of seamonkey and (soft) killing the process works instantly.
So it's really not a Mozilla engine problem (I also the use the VideoLAN, mplayer and Java plugin - but never had any problems with them) but Adobe, who can't code any half-decent plugin.
The fact that nearly every site out there has to use flash to advertising and stuff makes the problem even worse.

QFT, Safari on Windows is slow and dull and useless. Actually Appel's products on Windows in general follow that pattern...iTunes is just as bloated.

As for Firefox, I don't know, but it's probably not Mozilla, because most people don't have any issue. All I could say is make sure you grab the official Flash plug-in from the Mozilla website, and not one of the Flash beta versions.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7

And here's a post to look and try:

Hey man I understand your frustation. Nothing sucks more than losing hours of trying to figure out what the shit is going on. I strongly suggest you uninstall mozilla, then do a search for every fucking file or folder with the file name Mozilla and Firefox. Do the same on the registry. After that, get the portable edition at www.portableapps.com.
extract it anywhere and use. Install your usual themes and extensions. If something goes wrong, delete the entire folder and reextract the archive and bam, instant clean install. The portable edition has all the required files and settings on the archive so with this we can isolate the problem. Also doesnt write to the registry or any other folder outside of where you extracted it to. Heck, it was meant to be run on a USB stick. Unlike the standard with installation one where it writes to several folders on your Documents and Settings profile. Try it and if you still get the error, possibly a kernel or background service is messing up with the firefox executable or flash or whatever.

It's mostly linked to the fact that Apple insists on porting their UI along with the program, a concept I've always had a hard time understanding why the fuck they would do this or even think it's a good idea.

I mean, even Microsoft at least uses the Aqua UI when they bring their programs to OS X, so why does Apple have to be the assholes in porting their supposedly "superior" applications?

Apple applications with their shit port of their NOT WINDOWS, OR CAPABLE OF BEING WINDOWS COMPATABLE UI look better than NATIVE WINDOWS applications?

O RLY?

One of these is not like the other...

One of these has AIDS!

Face it, Apple applications on Windows are a disaster, simply because they refuse to give the courtesy of following the basic UI conventions of Windows XP. I mean, shit, even ported Linux applications, and UI toolkits follow these conventions. Do I even need to give you any more examples of everybody else doing it RIGHT?

Who am I even kidding, if Microsoft released an application for OS X that ported over the XP UI, you'd be all up in fucking arms because how dare Micro$$$oft do such a thing!

Did you update your Firefox? Update as in install Java, Flash, etc. for Firefox? I had a problem where I tried uploading some pictures on Facebook. But my Firefox would constantly crash. I found out once I installed Java, everything worked out fine.

Edit: Let's post random facts about random stuff! Like not talking about Firefox.

Okayz

1- I'm a SHE
2- I ONLY installed plugins fromt the OFFICIAL site that Sceptre X gave
3- My OLDER computer has no problem at all with Firefox and it works perfectly there... but not here
4- Actually using Win xp MEDIA CENTRE (the horror)
5- @Roan appreciate your help... I will uninstall mozilla and everything related to it... but you mentioned remove it from registry? How do I get there? (sry no sure what that means)

EDITING: 6- @ Sceptre X that forum link... I know I don't have #1 but I tried the second suggestion

Quote:
2- Go to "about:config" in the address bar, look for "browser.sessionhistory.max_viewers" and change the value from "3" to "0"
But hmm the number I see is -1 not 3 oO Eitherway I did change it to 0... and will test

EDITING AGAIN: Changing the # to 0.. well Firefox stopped freezing (when it freezes it doesn't connect to any other site and switching tabs = impossible)... interesting development

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Lol macfags.

Tsunade, have you tried running Firefox in safe mode? Try it and then disable all of your plugins and addons. Then you can try enabling them one by one and testing firefox in normal mode, and when you get your problem, then you've found your dodgy plugin.

Your flash player actually sounds like it's possibly corrupt or there was an error (or it was interrupted) when you first installed it, going from the info you've given in your posts.

[edit] Read every post except the one above this one, :/
