I have an mpg file that won't play. i hear the audio but no video, so how do i found out what codec i need? i would use GSpot but it only takes avis. i've already tried to run it in VLC, KM Player, MPC with FFDSHOW. none of them will play it...what else can i try? is there something out there like GSpot but for mpgs? thanks in advanced for any help!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Check the VLC's debug log. It will tell you why it cannot render the video stream.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
