I see bright happy colours, I see no sign of Shadow or Big the Cat, I see awkwardly placed spike traps that are guarding a few rings, I SEE THAT SONIC COULD FINALLY BE BACK. (I also do see his back).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm still sad that it had to be designed on rails for Sega to get it right.

I also predict that it's going to be too short.

Even for a Sonic game. D:

Aren't most Sonic games short in a way anyway?

Anyway, the game looks really good. And I actually hope they keep the name. Wild Fire actually has a ring to it.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Better short and awesome than long and shitty but eh let's not open that can of worms any further.

Maybe the fire has some sort of relation thing to the Chaos Emeralds... Just maybe.

Either that, they're just finding something new for him to collect.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You also should see no trace of Sonic riding a Jeep like the other next-gen versions.

This one's definately looking like what a Sonic game should be.

Looks promising, but it's hard to tell, being so rough around the edges. This is one I'd have to see in mostly complete form to draw any conclusions. It is a terrible shame that they've had to resort to putting the thing on rails. :\

heh.. Lets not forget that Sonic did ride something in the Genesis days (beginning of Ice Cap zone). I wouldn't mind him on a board if this has a ice stage.

That was in 2D though....and you got very little interaction with it. It didn't really count as 'riding' anything.

After watching the movies, I can say it looks fun. It's nothing amazing but it looks like some fun can be had out of it.

I'm in love with Sonic music so I'm more interested in that. Hopefully it will have an Ice level. I love the Sonic Ice Level themes.

I was never a huge fan of Sonic. I played a few Sonic games, but mostly in 2D. I guess now's a better time to start to get into Sonic than never, no?

Okay, yeah the left to right animation could use some work but that looks so much better than Sonic Adventure. It looks like it plays like traditional Sonic. Excellent. =)

I don't recall any of the Sonic games having any kind of storyline. It's all been "collect Chaos Emeralds and save the woodland creatures from Robotnik's egg capsule things at the end of every stage." And the Adventure games don't count. It's the same thing only with a little talking in between.

realize that this is basically 2D sonic represented in 3D. i don't find it unfortunate that sega had to put it on rails- now we will have no camera issues, no issues with shitty controls or stupid clipping problems. not all games were made to be in 3D - sonic might be one of them.

As long as they keep the style reminescent to the old Genesis/ Master Drive games then it'll be cool.

How the hell would you control it though?

Like a racing game, essentially. You hold the stick horizontally, and turn it left and right to steer Sonic. You rotate the thing forwards and back to speed up or brake as needed, and the front button is jump.

Racing game... yeah. :\ That's why my first impressions weren't so good, despite how the gameplay footage looks. Sonic games aren't glorified racers. Well, Sonic Advance 2 was, but it's generally agreed that wasn't a high point of the series, either.

i don't think you even steer him- you probably control his movement -- you can probably stop and go like in the old 2D games. maybe there is some 3D control.. i don't know yet, but everything i've seen points to a 2D-represented-in-3D space controls.

Meh, I never liked Sonic for platforming. He was slow as balls and unwieldy when it came to doing that sort of stuff. Speeding on through and accidentally finding a secret or two was what I liked about the game. So having Sonic on rails doesn't really change the gameplay formula of the original that much for me. That's why I find Sonic Wild Fire attractive.
