The Slip

Recently The Slip released a new album, Eisenhower, featuring "Even Rats" from Guitar Hero. I love the band, so I figured I should start a topic about them.

The Slip - Even Rats

Before this album they only had a few live recording albums (ALIVELECTRIC and ALIVEACOUSTIC), so the quality of this album is far above what they offered before. It's very soft rock with a taste of Boston thrown in. Very nice for easy listening, especially the tracks "If One of Us Should Fall" and "Airplane/Primitive."

Without a doubt they're my favorite indie band. Also uploaded the album itself, but I strongly suggest either ordering or finding a place to buy the CD. I sure did.

I'm defenitly gonna check it out. I LOVED Even Rats in Guitar Hero! It's just one of those songs you can sit and listen without it being too in your face.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Thanks for the notice, Merv. I fell in love with Even Rats as well, probably my favorite song from GH. It's just sooooo nice. It was kind of like my wind-down song; I always played it before turning the game off.

I'll definitely check this album out.

How ya doing, buddy?

SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?

Most excellent album. There are parts that hit you right where you least expect it, in the most unexpected way. Thanks for uploading this, I'm perusing iTunes now for more of their goodies.

I'm absolutely loving this CD. The first half has gotten a lot more listening time than the second half, so I can't really give a good opinion on the latter. I already loved "Even Rats" from GH. "If One of Us Should Fall" is my favorite of the new songs. It's just SO nice. I actually made the build-up and "Oooooh" part at the beginning my new ringtone. I love how The Slip does those nice vocal parts, like on that song and Even Rats. "Airplane/Primitive" is another nice soft song. "Children of December" is ok, though not exactly uplifting.

I like that their songs aren't simply verse-chorus-verse-chorus-lousy excuse for a bridge-chorus-end. It's like progressive music in that it's more freeform.

EDIT: Whoops, I failed to mention their drummer. He's very good.

I was speaking idiomatically.

The Slip is awesome, I first got into them through Guitar Hero. Thanks for uploading the album. I really want to hear more of their stuff, any ideas on where to find their previous works?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
