FTP troubles
I'm fielding this question in this forum seeing as how the FTP forums didn't have any help threads/sub-forums for help.
Anyways recently I've tried to connect to a few FTPs that had worked perfectly fine before that I can't get to work anymore. Instead I get the following message: "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." Now naturally I assumed maybe this was the doing of my firewall or some other doohickey so I go and disable them for the time being to no avail, I still get the same problem. Now on another FTP I get this message: [22:34:52] Connecting to [IP here] Port: [1337] [22:34:52] Connected to [FTP Server] [22:34:52] USERNAME [22:34:52] Server closed connection [22:34:52] Cannot login waiting to retry ... This message seems to imply that the problem is based on the FTP server. And to the best of my knowledge I'm not banned from this server, I've also tried to connect to a FTP that I've never connected to before and I get a similiar message. Just for the record, I'm using the latest SmartFTP client and I'm on my University network (which I believe is the most likely culprit of this whole shenanigan but I highly doubt they'd go and block FTP access) with some stupid Cisco Clean Access Agent poppycock (another likely culprit). I've also tried using another FTP program, CuteFTP, only to encounter the same problem. So there you have it, my blight, and any help would be great. Thanks. How ya doing, buddy? |
Try a trace route and a ping
Start -> Run -> CMD (tracert site.name) and (ping site.name) There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Um, I don't really remember, but, is this the error you get when the server is full?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
