Social Networking site provides Blogs, Forums and tools for Guilds/Clans/Online gaming groups.
Scotland/United Kingdom – February 9, 2007 – Games-Players.com, a new social network for gamers of all types has been launched for open beta testing. The site provides features to form communities communicating through News Announcement pages, Blogs, Forums and by creating Guilds. By putting all of this within one site, it allows creation of a larger network encompassing all types of games and all types of games players. With features being added constantly, Games-Players.com aims to become the focus of many online communities of gamers, and the hub of communication between online friends. This small Scottish business is launching into the booming social networking market which is worth an estimated $280 million dollars this year1 with predictions running to a massive 2 billion by 2010. Games-Players.com is also targetting the lucrative computer gaming market which has grown to a $12.5 billion dollar industry in 20062 . “Our main aim is bring gamers together, making an expansive and friendly community which will welcome new gamers into itself as our hobby grows ever more popular. Web 2.0 isn’t a term we particularly like, as no-one really knows what it really means, but it’s probably applicable to what we’re doing here.” Said Francis Moody, CEO and head honcho of Games-Players.com. “By providing a huge variety of easy to use features, we want to make the most customisable experience possible for our users. Allowing them to add functions and change the way the site looks on an individual basis, we hope that we can provide somewhere that meets the needs of gamers as if they had built the site themselves.” Games-Players.com provides features which allow even novice users to create blogs, forums and guilds, but provides a depth of functions which allows the addition and customisation of these without adding confusion. “We know that gamers would rather be playing games, than spending their time learning to use our site. If it’s not obvious how to use our site, then we obviously haven’t done our job right.” “We’ve been in closed ‘Alpha’ Testing since July (2006), but have decided that we’re ready to go straight to an open Beta test rather than restrict access to a select crowd at this stage. We’ve already got an impressive feature set, and are going to be adding more and more over the next couple of months as we move towards moving out of Beta in the very near future.” Games-Players.com invites all gamers to come and see what they are doing, and invites them to join in and help shape the new community at http://Games-Player.com which is best viewed with whatever web-browser you actually like using. About Games-Players.com Founded in February 2007, Games-Players.com is set up to create communities through social networking web-sites. Believing that one solution does not suit everyone, Games-Players.com brings innovative and individual solutions to niche markets, aiming to provide the user with a tailored experience suited to what they want using Web 2.0 technologies.
