PassWord Help
Hey everyone,
My girlfriends cousin felt like being a little bitch and ended up changing the password to going into Windows XP...now my girlfriend cannot log into her computer and I'm starting to get pissed off about it. Seriously pissed off. I don't know what to do and its going to get hard for me to contact her especially the fact she's in Florida right now... She has an Emachine...not sure which model but when i figure out the model i'm going to ask for a recovery disc or something......but is there anything i could do right now? Or anything I could inform her about? Jam it back in, in the dark.

You could always try logging into the "Administrator" account and change her password that way. There are boot disks designed for changing or erasing Windows passwords out there, but using the "Administrator" account would be an easier solution.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Ok...she's finally into her computer but i guess her cousin did something inside because now her firefox is not working...it keeps giving her this message:
The connection has timed out The server at en-us.start2.mozilla.com is taking too long to respond. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. Then i asked her to try and open Internet Explorer and she's getting this message: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address. Yet she is talking to me on AIM right now with no problems...if her whole internet was off i could have figured that out but not sure about this...she uses Wireless connections. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

(Firefox) Tools - Options - Advanced - Network: The cousin might have changed the proxy. Change it to Direct Connection.
Hope that helps. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() Want obscure Classical Music CDs? Search: http://www.lib.uwo.ca/ PM me the code, I'll rip it for ya [MAX 2 CDS/User] |
