I really loved the first one, but beyond that I just sort of lost interest. I"m not sure why, though I suppose the saturation of the WWII shooter helped in that way.

Have you played Call of Duty? I like that game to. The graphics and the over all way the story line was designed is amazing.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I loved Allied Assault, mostly because I got used to using the kar98k ... and people can't accuse you for being cheap using that gun like they do every other gun.

I've only fully played the first one on Playstation, and it was a pretty good game. I've also played a demo of Frontline, and even though I enjoyed it I have still yet to buy it.

I've played most of them (the first PS one, virtually all the Allied Assault and its expansions, then Pacific Assault and Rising Sun).

It was great at first, cause it was a semi-cool FPS game after the phenonmenon known as Goldeneye on N64 (think it came out about two years after). Allied Assault (the first PC version) was okay too, but I hated that damn sniper stage. I can see why they had trouble with them in the real WW2, but you had to practically do trial and error to remember where the snipers were, which kind of got boring once you knew where they were hiding.

Once Call of Duty came out though, I couldn't really get back into MOH. Although the expansions for Allied Assault and Pacific Assault had some squadmates with you, a lot of times it still felt a lot like you were a one-man army, meaning you had to kill almost all of the enemies yourself. If I recall, it was pretty horrible in Pacific Assault, although I can't cite specifics right now (haven't played in over a year), although again, I remember having to kill like 95% of the enemies myself.

Also, the earlier MOH games (Allied Assault and earlier) didn't have any melee capability (like in COD or Halo for example). It was kind of funny watching German soldiers stab you or hit you with the butt of their weapon, but you couldn't do the same to them, just shoot (I think there was a melee option, but you had to switch to it, you couldn't just whack them with your weapon).

Haven't tried European assault yet, but if it's similiar to the earlier ones, I'm probably not missing much.

Haven't really played the multiplayer aspects yet either (fearing that it'll be too much like counterstrike or quake, and the few times I did play it often seemed everyone was a sniper but me lol).

I like Call of Duty more overall, simply because it's got a better storyline experience. Not only are you hardly ever alone (it's friggin world war 2, millions of people fought and died on both sides!), but you to play a British, Russian, and American soldier, which is great cause not all of them fought on the same battlefronts (for example, the Russian campaigns don't have any desert stages, but there's plenty of winter stages there), and the vehicular combat is quite fun at times (I loved manning the guns on that bomber in COD: United Offensive expansion. Think it's the first time I ever saw a WW2 game from the perspective of one of those bombers. Too bad it only lasts one level, and you still get shot down no matter what lol).

I think what's killing MOH is the fact that there's a lot of them out now, and they don't seem to be very good (almost as if the devs are being forced to rush the game, so it just doesn't feel "complete"), as well as the fact that there's a ton of WW2 games out now (it'd make you think that WW2 was the only war that ever existed lol. I'll admit though, WW2 was large, and did have a lot of interesting stuff happen, which is why everyone wants to do a game from that time era).

I'd love to see more FPS games based on the Vietnam/Korean wars, or maybe even something like World War 1 (can't say it'd be as "exciting" as WW2 though, cause trench warfare was pretty static and even after four years of fighting the lines didn't move much. However, it'd be a nice prequel stage to another WW2 game at least). Or heck, something similiar to Star Wars: Battlefront would be nice too (yeah I know, there's a lot of SW FPS games out there, but most of them suck or if there's any jedi stuff in it, it turns into lightsaber battles, meaning the guns are practically useless).

If you do go buy it, make sure you get the one that comes with all the expansion packs.

I really enjoyed the two PSX Medal Of Honor games. Allied Assault and Frontline were pretty strong but I never finished them (AA has a strange problem with installing on my PC) and some of the levels in the later games were hard without needing to be so (Arnhem in Frontline is so comicbook yet incredibly difficult at times)

I got Rising Sun for $10 and it was awful. I haven't played it past the second level.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I've only played Allied Assault and really enjoyed the way it plays. Multiplayer mode totally blows compared to Day of Defeat. But storyline-wise, it's alot of fun just playing missions like Operation Charlie. The only problem I had with this game was the one mission where you had to sniper rifle kill any Axis runners. The runners are to activate some alarm system and you have to be accurate enough to pop'em all. I think the scope you use sways also, making it even harder to snipe them down.

I played MOH: Frontline in its entirety. The one-man army aspect really is ridiculous in that game. Regardless, the first level at Normandy seemed to be ripped straight from Saving Private Ryan, which is not a bad thing. I thoroughly enjoyed Arnhem Knights as well, mostly because urban combat is really fun. Overall, it's a pretty good game, but Call of Duty is so much better.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The very first MOH on PSX was good fun on its release, wasn't overly long or frustrating and had an amazing sound design. After that the bar was set high enough for WWII shooters on console and PC.

Never played MOH:Underground so can't comment on that.

Next was MOH:Allied Assault which was and still is a very impressive FPS. The intensity of war can truly be felt during the Omaha Beach level and still stands as one of the best levels in a FPS to this day. MOH:AA is one of my favourite shooters ever. The expansions, Spearhead especially, were good too but as is the case with expansions, too short.

A short while after that one came Frontline which had some good level design but it was mostly you against the Nazis, not realistic but intense nonetheless. And let's not forget the fantastic music playing in the background.

The latest PC incarnation is Pacific Assault, which I'm playing through again at the moment and it has some splendid gameplay, hard as nails but then you have the help of your squad mates (ok not a great help all the time but they're there assisting you in a kind of way). Love the whole Medic comes to the rescue when you're about to meet your maker.

Not exactly a MOH title but very similar in style and execution and developed by some former MOH guys, Call of Duty is probably the most realistic of all these games. Dozens of soldiers fighting alongside you in superbly detailed environments: especially the wartorn cities can be a bitch to fight through. Impressive game but way too hard at times (keeping the enemy from invading that house in the snow level (Russian?) was enough frustration for me... Sigh.
