First Hint at New ACE COMBAT Game
According to gamefront.de, Namco Bandai has just registered two trademarks, likely to be used as a title for a new Ace Combat game:
Wings of Liberation & War of Liberation Hopefully, there'll be an official anouncement on this soon. What do you expect from the next Ace Combat game? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I expect it to be on the PS3, have a good story, online play, and the usual breathtaking graphics.
Oh yeah, and intense fights ^^ There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Before Ace Combat Zero was released, I was hoping for more challenging and realistic take-off/landings.
With the power of the PS3, I also expect some major improvements for flight physics and more distinct characteristics for the different planes. Also, I just realized that I deliberately started this thread in Sony Scape, even though the platform(s) that this game will appear on is/are yet to be announced. I just hope it won't be on the Wii. ;-) This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Honestly, these two could be anything. Wings of Liberation might be a AC game, but war sounds like something else. Usually the subtitles are considerably different, unless these are sequels/related. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
Yeah, one being a handheld prequel/sequel to the other sound like something that a developer would do. Either way though, I'm sure that some tech demo of one or both will be shown at "E for ALL" which isn't too far off now.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
If they DO release 6, it just has to have online play. The formula is already perfect, all it's really missing is that one last touch and it'll be the game of forever.

Apparently, there is a rumor on this british game magazine, that Ace Combat MIGHT be going multi platform, so there's a chance the next AC game could be on the ps3 AND 360. It's kinda bittersweet to me, but we'll see what happens. All I can say is though, is when AC 6 is out for the ps3, that will be when I buy a ps3. lol.

:: plane crashes:: But yes, the more Ace Combat, the better. As stupid as the question, what are the chances for it also on the 360? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() - What we all do best - |
I saw this a mile away, and as soon as the sixaxis thing was displayed at the hilarious conference at E3 last year.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Almost no reason. If they made it compatible with the Flight Stick 2 (PS2 only atm) then I'd have to get one for sure. HOWEVER, if they made it so you could use the FS2 on the 360 I would fucking die. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() #654: Braixen |
Last thing you want to do is an unintentional barrel roll into a cliff or wall. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
I could see the Wiimote being used as a joystick, but you'd definitely have to set a neutral point unless you wanna break (exaggeration) your wrist holding the Wiimote parallel to the T.V. as a neutral point. Possibly use the Willchunk for squad commands/camera control. We might be actually able to utilize the free camera. Just throwing some ideas out there I guess.

It probably will use the SIXAXIS however unlike the Wii, if the motion stuff ain't practical for gameplay you can still play it the old-fashioned way on the PS3. ANALOG BABY!!!

Hey, what about using the tilt sensor of the SIXAXIS for adjusting the camera/looking around the cockpit?
I think if done right, this could both preserve the traditional control scheme and put the SIXASIS to good use. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |

I still think though the most unfortunate thing is the fac tthr rumble feature is gonna be gone for the ps3. It's a little thing that's not a big deal...but when it comes to a game like Ace Combat...it means a lot. Feeling the afterburners go, or making a turn and feeling the wind and gravity hit the plane....simple stuff like that makes the feeling of playing the game, outstanding.
Btw metal sphere, i am trying to get the magazine scanned from a friend...i'll post it ASAP There's nowhere I can't reach. |
