Update.exe
Well a few days ago I somehow had gotten a virus called update.exe. Upon doing so I removed it from my computer using Avast antivirus.
The problem now remains is that when I start up my PC I get an error prompt saying 'update.exe' cannot be found. As a result I checked in services.msc and I found nothing. So I checked my startup configuration by typing in msconfig at the run prompt, there I found update.exe in the startup list and I unchecked it and restarted my computer. Problem is it keeps coming back the 'update.exe cannot be found' prompt at startup no matter how many times I uncheck it on my startup configuration. EDIT: After rechecking my Hardrive with Avast the problem has gone, so thread closed. Jam it back in, in the dark.
