not enough violence? instigate it yourself
in Rhode Island, Two mothers and their 13-year-old daughters were arrested after police say one woman drove her already suspended daughter to school to fight a teenage rival.
Ana Rivera, 44, and Maribel Santiago, 34, are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on a charge of simple assault in connection with Monday's fight. Their daughters and two other 13-year-old girls were charged with disorderly conduct and their cases were turned over to the Juvenile Detective Division. Rivera allegedly drove her daughter to Woonsocket Middle School so she could fight Santiago's daughter. Police reports say the girls began feuding two weeks ago and began fighting outside the school on Monday. At one point, the melee involved all four girls, both mothers and a teacher, according to police. Authorities said a teacher tried to break up the fight and was hit by Santiago. Santiago and Rivera were released on $1,000 bail Monday evening, but Detective Lt. Timothy Paul said the department intends to notify the state Department of Children, Youth and Families about Rivera's case. Santiago, reached at home Wednesday, said she went to the school to pick up her daughter because of recent threats. She said she apologized to the school's principal and was only trying to protect her daughter. Her daughter was suspended from school for 10 days after the fight. "I just wanted to make sure my daughter stayed out of trouble," Santiago said. Rivera could not be reached for comment and it was unclear if she has an attorney. I just wanted to make sure my daughter stayed out of trouble by driving her to school to fight. don't think about that too long, or you will develop spasms. comments? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() You know what? you just might be full enough of shit to apply for congress |
That is what we call a huge flipping moron with no common sense whatsoever. I don't understand how parents can condone that kind of behavior out of their kids anyway, and driving them to school to facilitate it after the kid's already been suspended...unbelievable. And then claiming that it was to help her stay out of trouble - biggest load of hogwash from a parent trying to cover her (probably large) butt that I've heard in a while.
Almost as good as this clip: http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=2584 There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Well the Rivera lady was the one who drove her daughter to school to fight even though she was suspended. The Santiago lady was the one who wanted to pick up her daughter from school so she didn't get jumped/got into trouble/whatever.
Either way, that's just showing more school-related violence. What's shameful is that they're 13 (13!) and at the very least the Rivera lady was fucking psycho. What parent does that? Drive their kid to school to fight someone? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
what I'd love to know is what was the mother of the instigator's train of thought at the time. kinda like mick from rocky "ok kid, ya gotta work the groin, get em downand don't stop beating." people like this really need to be exterminated
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() You know what? you just might be full enough of shit to apply for congress |
I think thats rather strange that a mother would drive her already suspended daughter to school to beat up another teenager. Great parenting going on their obviously.
That Santiago mother seems ok for going to pick up her daughter so she didn't get hurt. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Reminds me of the time I was chatting with a Hispanic co-worker during a slow day. He was telling me about pranks and stuff he did in school in Puerto Rico, like how him and a few other guys got a 5 gallon bucket, filled it with water, then dumped it into a toilet stall where a guy they didn't like was using it. They left the bathroom and acted as if nothing ever happened.
Another time, he got into a fight with another guy who was much taller than him. His brother bailed him out on one occasion with this guy, but he kept holding a grudge against my coworker (I think it was over a girl). A few months later, his brother told him that he has to start standing up for himself. So what my coworker decides to do is "borrow" his uncle's brass knuckles, and while passing the guy while going to school one day, he just out of nowhere punches the guy in the face, dislocating the guy's mouth. Upon hearing about this, his brother told him he was crazy, and his uncle gave him a good ass kicking for taking the brass knuckles to school. The guy he punched though, never bothered him again though. Not that I want to stereotype or anything, but do Hispanics often resort to violence for petty issues? I saw stuff like this when I was going to school with Hispanics, and while I'm not saying that this is exclusive to them only (cause I saw a lot of other people fighting, all different ethnicities), when fights do break out, it's often hispanics that start it, or are involved in it (I had a Hispanic friend nearly beat up a guy who was picking on me. Luckily I managed to talk some sense into him, but boy did it get ugly). Back to the original post, yeah, that one mom went too far by driving her suspended girl to school solely to start a fight with another girl. Luckily guns weren't involved (what with the stuff going on in the news nowadays with school shootings and all). What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Sounds like my old High School. I do have to wonder if you're right about Hispanics resorting to violence, Gecko. Its like they're raised to believe that every little thing has to be solved with violence. Not all of them, obviously, but like you said, whenever I've seen a fight break out, a hispanic seems to be behind it. I don't get it.
But anyways, this does sound like something that would've happened at my high school. A sad fact, but every one of those girls needed to best, and the slightest injury to their pride would result in a fight, with parents cheering on from the side. Dont get why. FELIPE NO ![]() |
I've heard of parents telling their children to defend themselves in the event of conflicts, but I wouldn't expect a parent to literally deliver their kid to school with the sole intention of instigating the conflict. Smart parenting...
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Just another example of a lack of common sense by the kids and the parents. I mean, some people need to learn to grow up. Anyone who thinks the best answer to problems is violence, should go to Iraq, or Afghanistan....
