DVD playback = NO!!
So i have a DVD drive for my computer, and it hasn't worked for the past while. Ever since i've gotten a few seperate DVD players i didn't really notice until games started coming up in DVD format. That's when i noticed that certain games, and any DVD refused to be recognized by my disc drive.
Windows has been forcing these updates on me, refusing to let me use my computer without constantly trying to restart on me and install their prescious software. It seems to be the biggest thing in recent history that would've happened around the change in my computer's behaviour. I've had problems with my disc drive before, but it went straight to not reading anything at all. A quick sweep of my computer with Ad-aware, and Spybot would clear that right up though. This time, no such luck. I realize this is sort of vague, but i'm not really sure what could be causing this, so if anyone has any ideas, i'd love to hear them before i pay someone to fix it for me. thanks. Jam it back in, in the dark.

take a look at the gamelist on that site. if you have any of those games installed, you're infected with starforce, and that is what is causing your problem. if that is the case, follow the removal instructions on the site, and enjoy your visit with Kane. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Thanks but according to the detect it steps, that's not the problem. I'm going to try downloading a new DVD decoder, see if that makes a difference. Will post results later.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
