Psychonauts Soundtrack: The Official Cinematic Score released December 18

New Psychonauts Soundtrack available here.

Not to be confused with the OST. This is a new one.

Got it in the mail today. This is excellent stuff.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Oh this is good news.
I only remember a couple of tracks from the Psychonauts OST such as the creepy camp theme of Whispering Rock or whatever camp was called, and the theme within Sascha Nein's mind. The rest were all right and not as memorable for me.

So this is a compilation of cutscene music without the voices, and remixed? I might get this one day, but I honestly don't remember the cutscene music very well.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Oh I see. They didn't intend to release an incomplete score, they'll just serialize it to squeeze us of our money. Good job Double Fine.

I can't say I remember any of the cutscene's music, but I'll be happy to hear this anyway. They need to release a complete in-game score one of these days as well.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'll have to check this out, but I honestly don't remember any of the cutscene music. My favorite song is the one that plays in Ford Cruller's base. They need more versions of that.

Anyone know where samples can be found? If the music is good, I'll buy a copy of both CDs...

I was speaking idiomatically.

And I was wondering why some tracks were missing from the first soundtrack, among those the aforementioned Cruller's base track. I wonder if that could be "March of the Psychonauts".

I think I got most songs in the game rip and the tracks on the first OST were far too short for my tastes (I don't know why they cut them like that, there was like 20 minutes left that could have been added to the CD...), but maybe I should get these anyway. The shipping's kind of expensive but at least it's not totally unrealistic.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Maybe, maybe not. From the looks of things, this album is strictly the music from the various cutscenes, possibly in medley form since I don't remember the Lungfishopolis intro being 2 minutes long. Now, that IS something worth having, since there's no way to rip the cutscene tracks without getting the voices and sound effects as well.

As for the rest of the soundtrack, looks like we'll have to make do with game rips, since the official album was so crappy.

To be fair, it was included as part of the End Credits track, though I'd still rather have it as a stand alone piece.
