Norton Antivirus 2006
Does anyone have any sort of fix to register Norton Antivirus 2006?? rhyming rules... :juggler:
How ya doing, buddy? |
Why in the world would you want to use that overbloated piece of crap? Get yourself a real antivirus like F-Prot or NOD32 instead; you'll thank me for this later on.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
try first to uninstall Norton Antivirus 2006 than restart you PC and install it again.and use old method to register NAV 2006.after finish register go to option and make sure don't choose "Notify me of norton antivirus program update:
![]() and don't make manual update, and make sure don't choosing what you see on this pic: ![]() is working for me perfection. ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Agreed. AVG and Kaspersky aren't bad as well. I've given up on Norton - far too bloated for me.
How ya doing, buddy? |
+1 for getting rid of Norton
It's not only slow but also dishonest. The kind of software who takes advantage of people's ignorance to scare them and make them believe their PC can't run without it. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I also wonder why people buy/pirate this Norton piece of crap. It gets horrible scores in every review and is basically among the worst pieces of software ever designed.
Nothing at all is still better than Norton AV. *spreading rampant Norton haterism* What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Well, if you want to keep using Norton, at least use an older version like Norton 2003 or so. Surely in 3 years computer resources matured enough to handle the bloat that they built into that version...?

Is Norton that bad? I've been using it for a few years now, and it hasn't given me any problems. It detects viruses when it comes, and deletes them accordingly. Maybe it helps that I have 1.5 gigs of RAM to run it.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
How ya doing, buddy? |
In my experience, Norton is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better than McAffee, as McAffee couldn't detect a worm with the latest definitions and Norton could. (And yes, it was a worm. Some n00b came to my house and installed KaZaA and downloaded a "crack"....)
And what about using Symantec AntiVirus 10? Surely that isn't "bloated"? There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Indeed McAfee sucks. I'll recommend anything Norton over McAfee. I've got somebody that's having problems with McAfee's Antispam program just plain failing to do its job, but if they won't listen to me and give it up...
How ya doing, buddy? |
okay, i guess i can give up norton for the sake of you guys lol...does anyone have the serials for f-prot of nod32?
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

I'm happy with NAV 2006. I trust Symantec since they've been around for several years. I wouldn't trust a new-comer to the AntiVirus scene. Also NIS2006 is the best program ever, simply because it comes with AntiSpam. I hate ads, so I love AntiSpam.
FELIPE NO |
Also, NIS2006 couldn't be the best program ever, because that would mean that it would work for everone (including me). What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I use NIS2005 on my Windows 2000 OS, as it works and works well. My brother thought he'd be cool and get the upgraded 2006 version but after seeing what it did to his PC for 5 minutes I knew it was far more bloated and less flexible than the predecessor. I also used Kapersky Beta for my XP64 installation and at first I thought it was OK but frankly, it's a pain in the ass with unpredictable results. Just today the beta trial of that expired so now i'm using Avast, which is free in the Home Edition version and runs just fine on XP64, so i'm hoping it turns out better than Kapersky, without throwing up a pointless message every five minutes, kicking me out of a game.
PC-Cillin is also fine in my experience but that was the 2002 version. If Norton can take such a dive in just one year, so could stuff made by Trend Micro I suppose. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Norton Internet Security (Insert Year #) has always been way too bloated for my tastes. It's also much more difficult to setup than they make it to be, something that could throw off the n00bs.
Just get yourself a hardware firewall people. As for an anti-spam program, I'm still looking for a good one, but my email provider (yahoo) does a good job with it, so I never see much anyways. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
