More DRM Issues
Hi Guys!
I did a search and found a few threads on DRM/License issues, but none that applied to my specific problem. I've been using MusicMatch Jukebox for years. I really enjoy the service and get a lot out of it. I've also bought a few albums, about 5, which have played properly for years/months. A few weeks ago, I had an issue with my laptop that forced me to "Repair" windows using installation disks. Ever since then, I have been unable to play any song from any album that I bought using the MMJB store. Music that I ripped from CD's work perfectly. The songs will play for 28 seconds, then stop, often fatally locking up MMJB. I also get "Unlicensed Track" errors when using them. I exchanged emails with Tech Support, which had me move my DRM files to another folder and attempt to re-download the licenses by playing the songs. I get the same errors. Tech Support now tells me there is no fix, and basically "Tough Luck." What are my options at this point? All I really want is the ability to listen to songs that I've bought legally. I don't know who to contact at Yahoo (who apparently runs MMJB now) about either getting my money back or crediting me so I can buy other albums. To listen to the songs, it sounds like I'd now need to download them from the "Grey Market," but that's a hassle that I shouldn't have to go through (just did a Torrent search at Pirate Bay and didn't see one of the albums). Any advice? Thanks! Most amazing jew boots |
Here you go ~
The other albums that you did find via torrents and the like; get them. Why would you want to put yourself in the exact same position again? There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Quite honestly, the only way to fix broken DRM is to not download DRMed files in the first place.

Evilboris is 100% correct. I don't have a single DRM (Defective Restricted Media) file in my possession and, surprise surprise, I've never been bitten by DRM problems.
Try Magnatune, AudioLunchbox, or EMusic if you want legal downloads without Defective Restricted Media encumberments put in place. How ya doing, buddy? It is not my custom to go where I am not invited. |
