Project Chaos: S3&K Remix Project!

Hello there, everyone. I thought I'd make a post about a new Remix Project I was part of. Some of you may know about it already, but I thought I'd post about it anyway. Basically, me & a bunch of other remixers, headed by KFC & Snappleman, decided we wanted to remix the entire S3&K soundtrack. It's in a bunch of different styles, ranging from Rock to Classical Piano to Electronica. Basically, it has something for all tastes.

To get the project go here, http://www.s3k.ocremix.org/. It's split into 3 discs, the first 2 being the main game tracks, 3rd being the race+bonus tracks.

I actually just started listening to this the other day, and there are several excellent tracks on here. I could easily see this being the best OCR project so far. It definitely tops the Sonic 2 project.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

THIS PROJECT FRICKEN P0WNS!

This is an absolutely fantastic piece of work, one that just makes you crank up the stereo and party all night. Everybody has to download this, Sonic 3 & Knuckles fan or not.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I agree with VG. This project is definitely one of the best I've ever heard. I'd put it tied or even past the Kong in Koncert compilation. I'm especially glad that the remixes for my favorite themes in the game were really good (Hydrocity, Mushroom Hill, Sonic 3 Boss 1).

Wow, that is the fastest torrent I've ever used.

One quibble: I was listening to the remix of Sky Sanctuary Zone, (One of my favorites) and liking it, when suddenly the melody deviated significantly from what I rememeber. I have all of these melodies memorized like the back of my hand, and the sudden deviation was very shocking, to say the least.

HOWEVER, the quality of the majority of the tracks is extremely good, and I'm thoroughly enjoying them, especially this utterly kickass Marble Garden Zone remix. How cool!

I was speaking idiomatically.

I listened to the remixes the other day and I enjoyed them. There's definately some really nice tracks in here. The Hydrocity remix and the Flying Battery remix were my favorite tracks.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

SnappleMan really comes through here in this project. His guitar sections are absolutely superb.

How ya doing, buddy?

Yeah, the rock songs are great. I especially like "Walk on Water."

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I have to admit I had my doubts about the vocals in remixes (since it's easier to do instrumentals). But Knuckleduster was very well done so props for that. My only complaint is FFMusicDJ didn't contribute, his songs are always fun to enable Mega Bass with.
