Windows XP Media Center eMachines not recognizing onboard LAN
First off, I don't like pre-built computers. I try to avoid them whenever possible. However, my suitemate's computer was having bluescreen problems, so he asked me to wipe the thing and reinstall windows. I wiped first with my XP CD, which produced the afformentioned problem. Afterwards I found his system restore CD, which reinstalled Windows XP Media Center Edition, and it produced the same result.
The device is not listed under the computer's Device Manager, and IPConfig in the command line lists absolutely nothing.
The model is eMachines T6532. I've been pulling hair out over trying to get this thing recognizing the onboard LAN and back on the campus network, but nothing's worked. It's not like it doesn't detect the connection; there is no "A Network Cable has been Unplugged" message. It doesn't detect the onboard LAN whatsoever.
There are no drivers on eMachines' website, either.
Edit: We've determined it's most probably a motherboard problem. On a fresh installation of windows it bluescreened, so we're going to send it in to eMachines.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
