Directory listing / file listing

So it's not hard to find a script that'll list directories on a server and their subdirectories.

I can't find any though where You'll go to a page in one for a directory and pick a file, and then it'll take you to another page for that file, with the link to download it.

The only example I can think of right now is what gh does.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Why? Do you intend to plaster ads all over the place?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I intend to not let people simply mass-download the whole couple of gigs of stuff in a single click.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Something like this wouldn't be too hard.
Is there some script in particular you're using as it stands to do directory listing, or no?

You'd probably just want all the links to go to something like download.php?file=filename, and then work from there--have that file make sure the thing they want actually exists (and is downloadable) and send it at them.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I have came across a script that does that, but it's quite high maintenance. I can't have it do automatic updates, and have to manually tell the script that there are new files.

See implementation at http://books.jetsam.org

I was speaking idiomatically.
