Wireless Home Theater: Worth It?

I've been using a Kenwood VR-615 Home Theater for surround sound with my games and movies for a few years now. It's delivered with its booming sound, surround effects, and even DTS.

However, I've just about had it with maintaining the speaker wires, constantly replacing them, tuning them, moving them around, making sure each speaker is played with the approximate volume, etc. They're ugly, they take up space, and they're a pain in the ass all around.

So I'm thinking of upgrading to a Wireless Home Theater, eliminating the need for speaker wires. I haven't really shopped around, but I remember some positive reviews in cheapassgamer. So I'm asking for advice from anyone here knowledgable in this area. I'm looking for a home theater set that can deliver equal to or better the performance of my old Kenwood, and within a reasonable price range ($200-$300). Of course I also want to hear any common criticisms wireless speakers may have (do they clash with other wireless equipment like cell phones? do they break down easier? etc).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

While I cannot give any information based on personal experience, I have heard reports that wireless sound systems are subject to interference with the predraft -n line of wireless routers. While you yourself may not be purchasing a wireless n-draft based router in the near future, it is possible to get interference from a neighbor using one, depending on your housing/apartment arrangements.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
