Yeah I saw the poster and was like "meh another one of these" but when I watched the trailer I was amazed. This movie looks really awesome.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I recomend reading the book before seeing the movie. It helps with the story and understanding some scenes that might be in the film. Well only if you want to read 500+ pages of fantasy story.

And if anything about the movie is completely off from the book I'll be annoyed.

Since the OP was a dick and decided to just advertise his blog, you can find the trailer here.

It actually looks pretty good. I've never read the book but I heard it was pretty bad when you compare to high-fantasy like A Song of Ice and Fire. Also, hopefully the cg gets better by the time it's released because it sucks right now.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah, saw the trailer the other day. Looks pretty sweet. But I hope it isn't like that Dragonheart film or anything. Or is it along the same line? I am kinda confused as to whether there is a connection between those films or something.

Anyway, I may have to check it out. I haven't had much time watching movies, but I think the money needs to come in first.

I really have to disagree. I think the trailer makes the movie seem very generic and rather lame. Not that the books are anything great, but it doesnt look like the movie is going to be able to compare. What about it did you people think was intriguing?

I agree, aside from the special effects and John Malkovitch, it makes me think Sci-Fi channel original movie. I mean, just listening to the lines they give on the trailer (usually some of the better ones for advertising purposes) the whole thing sounds derivative, and I can't imagine anyone getting a very good performance out of the script.

It's not that it looks new and original, it just looks like a fun movie. I don't think anyone is going to go into this expecting another LotR.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The book is horrible. The only reason it got published in the first place is because it was written by some 16 year old. And you know what? It shows. Very strong writing for a 16 year old, to be sure, but still infintile and lacking in scope. The movie will be no better. Mark my words. Eragon signals an end to the Fantasy Epic craze.

Yeah, it is based on a trilogy and the third one isn't out yet. I assume that they will be releasing them in the same fashion they have done with the Harry Potter books. They just make them as the books continue to be published, hoping that the last book is finished before the movies can catch up. The Second book of this series just came out sometime last year, so I would think that they would be able to do it that way.
