I created a forum for my university project
Hey guys, quick question. I have made a forum for my university project and am having an issue where whenever someone uses quotation marks "", they appear with a / in front of each of them, example: /"Quote/" Any idea why this is. I made the forum using Forumer.com Thanks in advance for the advice.
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
It's because html code has quotes in them. Scripting languages put slashes in front of quote marks in order to generate the quote mark into the html code so that it is not confused with normal script code.
For example: This really depends on how the program was written though and what language it was using. If there were say... something like a user function checking posts for anything with quote marks... and then adding the using the addslashes function on that group of text... that could be a bad thing. What language is the forum written in? How ya doing, buddy? |
