Nomic
I wouldn't be surprised to find if something like this had been done before, but I ran a few searches and found nothing. If this already does exitst, then I am a horrible person and deserve to die.
Anyways, Nomic! In Nomic, players take turns rolling a die, and the number you get is the number of points you score for that round. First player to 100 points wins. (The object is made intentionally boring so players will change it early in the game) Nomic is a logic game that is played by changing the rules in order to give yourself an advantage. The players take turns proposing rule changes, with all the other players voting to accept or reject the new rule. Virtually any rule can be changed, including the system for voting on rule changes, the winning conditions, the object of the game, the point system, anything at all. In a nutshell, this is Calvinball. The official ruleset. Please read if you would like to play. I think 7 players is a good number to start with. So, if you'd like to play, or have any questions and/or suggestions, post here. Players 1. Stoob 2. Darkcomet72 3. Admiral Amara Jam it back in, in the dark.

Never even heard of Nomic, but this just might be the greatest thing ever. Sign me up.

It reminds me of that card game Mao, which is basically the same thing, and thus I hate it.
![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |

You might've wanted to make this in the Community Commons. You would've had WAY more reception there.
You could very much count me in. Also, using Calvinball automatically makes your analogy the best analogy ever. I'm curious as to how this game will run - I'll play. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Really? Shows how much of a nub I am. I sort of thought that the place of laughs and games was the best place for a game...uh...any benevolent mods out there want to move this to the Community Commons for me? Pony please?
I was speaking idiomatically.

Well, hey, I assume I'm correct. Just because I've been here longer and I introduced you to the site (et cetera) doesn't make me right. However, games like Werewolf are played in Community Commons, so I figure Nomic, being along the same tract (a potentially mass-involvement game with certain elements of structure), would work in there as well.
