Death Clock Metalocalypse

Death Clock Metalocalypse: Dethklok is a Norwegian heavy metal band. They are incredibly talented and insanely popular. But Nathan Explosion, William “Murderface,” Skwisgaar Swigelf, Toki Wartooth and Pickles are also stupid… dangerously stupid. No matter what they do, be it playing sold-out festival gigs or going to the grocery store, Dethklok leaves a path of destruction and murder behind. The series Death Clock Metalocalypse will debut in August. Brendon Small, known as for his role as Brendon Small on the Adult Swim series Home Movies, and Tommy Blacha are co-creators and executive producers. Mark Hamill joins Small and Blacha on the voice cast. James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica make guest appearances. Blacha and Small also write and perform Dethklok’s extensive oeuvre of heavy metal music for the show. The series is being produced at Titmouse, Inc. in Los Angeles. Twenty episodes have been ordered.

Commerical here.

Seriously, this looks like it's going to be a great show. I honestly can't wait for it. Plus I hear that the creator is a bonda fide metal head, so I hope there will be some inside jokes on metal (the Fintrolls supermarket was brilliant!).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

This looks to be brilliant!
Norwegian metal really needs more exposure, even if it's in a satirical light. Let's face it, a lot of those northern metal acts are a bit outlandish. I'm probably going to die laughing from it. Not to mention if they throw in lots of little metal inside jokes...that's wonderful.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

August 6 is the premiere. There is a torrent of a promo DVD that includes two episodes. They are pretty funny. Stupid humor, but hilarious. I want to have a pedal setup that controls the TV like Pickles.

I'm excited for this show. I love metal, and the episodes of Home Movies that featured a lot of music (like the guitar competition) were always really well done. Definitely looking forward to the Nevermore appearance, too.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Well, at least you're not judging the show before you watch it.

...Oh, wait - you are, actually. Awesome.

Just watch the show when it comes out on August 6. Trust me, there is no gaying up here. Fucking awesome guitar work (seriously metal with sweep picking, awesome riffs and semi-growled vocals) as well as compious amounts of metal violence.

Now now! You must remain open-minded! Don't take your art so seriously! It's "just" music! Where is your sense of humour? Oh you metalheads think you're so tough and grim, that's why you think this is imbecilic, right? Don't be such a narrow-minded elitist! Why don't you watch before you judge? There are "cool riffs", so it must be good!

(Did I forget anything?)

I just saw the first episode. All I gotta say is this show is hilarious. I loved it, just like I thought I would. Its like a cartoon Spinal Tap. Mocking, but still revered by metal fans.

Yeah, watched it last night and though I'm not big on metal, I still thought it was pretty funny. The performance at the beginning and the grocery store shopping towards the end were gold.

Eh, I liked it, although not very much. The jokes just kind of fell flat for me. I'll give it some more chances though, as I felt the same way about the first couple of Home Movies episodes (I ended up loving the later ones).

That said, the "Coffee Jingle" was incredibly funny, and I would use it as a ringtone if I had a cell phone.

You can watch the first 2 episodes on Adultswim.com under the Adultswim fix. This show is great. I found all of their songs so far on Limewire (NEW dETHTHEME 1.1, Dethjingle, Thunderhorse, and Awaken Mustakrakish).

I didn't think the pilot was TOO funny, but the second episode was hilarious to me. Especially all the stuff with the producer.

I'm not really a biggie on black or trash metal but, I can definitely say that I love this show badly after seeing the first 5 episodes on youtube Its just stupid funny and I love Murderface for his self hate and hates everybody attitude. Dethtroll is the best episode so far and held the whole nation under fire

Wow, I'm surprised this thread isn't flurishing.
This show is amazing and hilarious.
It's so ridiculous and out there...I love it.

It's not the best show on the network. But for 15 minutes it's got my attention.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
