Image manipulation programs like Photoshop
Can anyone suggest any decent, free image manipulation programs like Adobe Photoshop? I'm not expecting anything as high quality as photoshop, but I really need a program similar to it. I'm at a loss, so maybe you can help me.

If you're into vector image manipulation, I'd recommend Inkscape. It's pretty easy to get a foothold in and quite useful. A neat timewaster too  This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

I'll second the GIMP. It is essentially open source Photoshop. Just don't expect it to be exactly like Photoshop.
