I used to be able to play SRT files but now I cannot!

Ok I have no idea what happened, but I do know that I used to be able to play SRT files in my windows media player 10.

But now for some reason I cannot. I have dled VobSub, but had errors installing it and I also redled WMP 10 but still no change. I think it started when I installed VirtualDubMod, but its not a system file so why would that affect my WMP 10??

I also switched on the subtitle file in WMP 10 and still nothing:
Play>Subtitle>on if available
Options>Tools> Play local subs

I need help.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well I already have a player that can to it, but I really wanted to figure out with the problem was with my WMP, because it used to work fine.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, you said you had trouble installing VobSub. Just get something like the CCCP. Installing the subtitle software is typically a good start.

I am pretty sure I had already installed that particular codec pack but I will try again. Oh and i tried installing VobSub again and it went through with no problems the second time around though still no change.

EDIT: Alright just installed the CCCP and I guess I had an older version of it in my system...also it asked me to disable VobSub because it is known to cause problems....So I did and BAM it all works again!!!, thanks Lukage, I would have never thought of reinstalling a program that I thought i already installed, so thanks again!

I was speaking idiomatically.
