RUMOURS: Darkwing and Tale Spin on DVD!!!

Yup, volume 1 for both shows may be appearing in stores on August, 2006, the same month as my birthday. Huzzah!

I for one would be VERY happy if the rumours are true. Tale Spin is one of my favourite TV shows ever, and one of my top two favourite Disney cartoons (Gargoyles being the other). I had taped all the episodes on VHS ages ago, and I've since lost them all. Having them on DVD would be super awesome. In an era where cartoons were based on frantic action and outrageous comedy, Tale Spin was more akin to a soap opera, but much better than real soaps, with better stories and character development. Karnage is my favourite Disney villain ever. "What a lousy place for a wall."

Darkwing was a cool show too, but alas, I much greatly preferred Tale Spin.

Here's hoping that if the rumours are true, Disney won't pull a fast one and release DVDs with four episodes in them like they did with Goof Troop and Quack Pack. One must wonder why they bothered to release Quack Pack, a much more recent and far less popular show, than Tale Spin or Darkwing, far more popular shows that came out earlier.

Who else loves Tale Spin as much as I do??

Oh, and I guess you guys would like to see an URl, eh? Well, here it is.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

That's pretty awesome. I'm definitely going to get DVD Rips of those shows. Darkwing Duck was the shit back in the day. It was my favorite cartoon for a while. He was basically a comical, duck version of Batman. Awesome stuff.

Tale Spin was the show with the bear and the plane right?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I liked Darkwing Duck back in the day, but I never really liked it enough to buy it today. I'm not saying I'll never buy it, but there are a lot of other shows from my childhood that I would buy first over this.

As for Tale Spin, I think I might have watched it back in the day, but when I watched it recently on Toon Disney I hated it. I doubt I would ever buy this show on DVD.

How ya doing, buddy?

What? You're not planning on buying them? Disney has said many times that they'd only bring out more TV shows on DVD IF the sets get good sales, so I am hoping lots of people who love the shows will buy them.

Indeed it is.

Any reason why you hated it?

I honestly don't know. It just didn't appeal to me at all, and I couldn't really understand why I ever watched it. I think I may have only liked it because my sister did (she still likes it though, so that doesn't make sense).

Different strokes for different folks. :3

I saddens me that Disney produces such dreck nowadays, yet back in the 80's and 90's their cartoons were awesome. I used to love Disney, but not anymore.

Now if only they'd release Gargoyles volume 3.

How ya doing, buddy?

Wow, this is pretty sweet. I got Talespin mixed up with Duck Tales though, and my excitment was dashed. Darkwing Duck is an amazing anouncement though. I used to love that show, but i can hardly remember any of it. I remember the NES game was kickass, i played it non-stop.

Gargoyles is another show that I used to watch, but now I can't get back in to it. I have been considering getting the DVDs though (or borrow them from my sister if she ever gets them, which she wants to do), to try and get back into it.

And by volume 3, I assume you mean Season 2 Volume 2, right? The last I heard was that they have released the first season and half of the second, and still need to release the second half of season 2 and The Goliath Chronicles.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Um, The first DuckTales volume already came out on DVD, and there's also rumours of the second volume coming soon too.

That's exactly what I mean. I have the ones released so far, but I've heard sales for Season 2 volume 1 aren't as strong as Season 1, and I'm afraid it may have put Disney off from releasing the rest of season 2. I don't give a damn about Goliath Chronicles, but I want that Season 2!!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

OSNAP. Yeah, Tale Spin was definitely one of my favorite shows as a kid. I mean, even thinking back on it now, how could it lose? Bears, yo.

My birthday is in August too, so this is an easy addition to my wishlist.

I watched Dark Wing Duck a lot too, but BEAR > DUCK.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

OMG! You're the first person in this thread besides me who likes Tale Spin. XD
I have around 40 episodes on CDs, but I haven't been able to find anymore. I can't wait to get the DVDs! It better include the UNCUT 4 episode pilot.

P.S. Wherebouts is your birthday? Mine's the 10th. You close to me?

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

18th (it's in my profile). But yeah. I did liked Tail Spin definitely a lot more. I remember that sky surfing thing that that little bear did (Kid?). That was freaking awesome. Bears are a fanciful creature. But unlike unicorns, bears are real, especially the ones that fly planes and surf in the sky. What you know about bears?

Ah, silly me. I rarely look at people's profiles, so I naturally hadn't thought of checking yours.

As for bears, all I know is that some bears wear pants and some don't. Bear cubs in particular are surprisingly agile, and they show it with their awesome air-surfing skills. Some bears live in very nice dens next to giant waterfalls...wish I could live in such a place.

Tale Spin owns you, and you know it.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Tale Spin + Darkwing Duck < Mighty Max

That's right. I went there.

Oh no you di'int!

But yeah, I would buy Mighty Max in a heartbeat over these two shows. I don't even remember who made it, though (I don't think it was Disney).

Hey, did anyone get the sets yet? Both just came out. I'm gonna get just the TS set.

I read a review on the TS DVD, confirming the rumours that the TS pilot IS edited, but the other eps aren't, so that's still good. One of the worst eps is on the set (All's Whale that Ends Whale) while one of my faves isn't. I forgot the name of the ep, but it was about a hotshot dog pilot named Ace London and lots of pickles. On the bright side, one of the best eps ever, A Bad Reflection On You is on it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Mach One For the Gipper. Pretty good one, though my favorite episode is probably Time Waits For No Bear (considering that's on Volume 1, I'd best pick this up soon) or The Ransom of Red Chimp.

That's what I thought it was called, but everytime the title came into my head, I kept thinking of that ep where Karnage is trying to sneak into Cape Suzette and Baloo and Louie try to get to the cliff guns with a pig. What's the name of that episode?
