Comanche 4 (PC) ~ Loading Issue...
Anyone else have this game and have trouble getting it to load without an error pop-up? Here's a link to the issue I must be having:
http://www.novalogic.com/kb_article.asp?ID=221 Basically I have done all the fixes that the knowledge base listed, nothing is working... ![]() I have tried the original CD, making a backup and even a fixed exe. Nothing is working. Strange thing, the game will play if I don't click the report button on the error, though there's no sound during the game. I am assuming I shouldn't leave the error notice running in the background while playing the game either way though, so I am confused. Even weirder, the C4Lan.exe file for multiplayer works fine, but can't access the SP game with it. Tried emailing Novalogic, but they are of no help! Any idea how to get this Windows XP game to work on Windows XP?! ![]() -- PC specs: PC Type: Dell XPS 400 Processor Type: Pentium D 3.20ghz Ram: 2GB Video Card: ATI RADEON 1900 XTX 512MB Video Card Driver: 8.203.3.1 DirectX 9.0c Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic Internet: Comcast Hi-Speed Broadband Firewall: McAfee Internet Suite 6 EDIT: Funny, after several days of searching I found out the solution myself, then got an email from Novalogic just a few minutes later. Their solution isn't the correct one either... ![]() Sheesh, found the other by accident, but here it is for those of you who might need it as well. Change the file linked below. It's faulty off the disc and needs replacing. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
