Help choosing video cards

I'm actully stuck between choosing two video cards. My choices are the Nvidia Geforce 6600 128 MB GT OC AGP or the ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512 MB AGP. I honestly don't know the difference between the two because my knowledge in computers is....well, it isn't very good. Can anyone help me choosing the best video card.

Note: I'm not concerned with price.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Correct me if I'm wrong (Dayvon/Duminas), but isn't the 6600GT faster? because of more pipelines? even though it is a Pro version of the X1600?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

No... I dont believe so render. The X1600 Pro is (I believe) the faster of the two. They would be fairly comparable, but the X1600 does have better "future" tech under the hood, which would make it more future proof than the 6600GT. Also never forget that video RAM size does matter (especially in Oblivion). The best card you can get at any price for AGP however is the 7800GS.... So if money is no object and you need/want to stick with AGP for now, then that's the card for you.

I do VERY HIGHLY recommend the X800XL on ATI's clearance store (while it's in stock) as the best AGP bang for the buck, as it is better than the 2 cards you linked and also cheaper. It is about, I would say 80-90% of the speed of a 7800GS, while the cards you linked would be about 60-70%... So take your pick .

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Im actually reconsidering buying a good quality video card right now because I will be going to university soon and I probably won't have any time to play games. I actually just plan on waiting until I finish university and then with the money I have saved up, I'll buy a new video card.

Anyways, thanks for all the help. I appreciate it.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
