Replacing a DVD Remote
About a month ago I purchased an upconverting DVD player from Best Buy, marked down from clearance. The only problem is that it lacks a remote. I tried programming a couple of the ones I have at home, but it doesn't access all the necessary features needed, such as a menu button, fast forward or rewind.
I tried contacting the manufacturer of my DVD player, but they're asking $29.99 for the remote (which basically kills the deal from Best Buy; the player was $50). So I was wondering if anyone knows a place where I can order the remote for cheaper, or a good alternate remote that should enable all the features for my DVD player. It's an LG brand, by the way, info here. http://www.cnet.com/4520-10602_1-5618341-1.html How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |

I doubt you'll ever get 100% compatibility with a regular universal remote. You could get a harmony remote for 100$ or so, or just buy the official remote and remember that there are no good deals on open products without remotes.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Most universal remotes will let you access the menu at least.
Although I highly recommend getting a Harmony if you don't mind spending the cash. It's one hell of a remote to have, and you never need any others. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
