IP address keeps changing in router
This is kinda annoying for me, like every day or two I gotta go in my router settings page and change the IP address manualy. Like today it will be 192.168.1.131 later on today or tommorow or the day after it will change to 192.168.1.132. Is there any of having it no change so it will just remain at a fix IP where I don't have to go in command prompt type in ipconfig /all and find my IP address and enter it in the router settings?
This is annoying especially when I'm playing games. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah. Don't use DHCP.
Or, if you router supports it, enable static DHCP assignment. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yeah, or just set your machine's IP instead of using DHCP. Just be sure there won't be any conflicts. But what ElectricSheep said is a more organized way to do it. Check for that static DHCP assignment option.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
