Help....
Okay, I know that this sounds like a totally stupid request, but I'm kinda stuck:
Just saw the One shot and Specials folder in jetsam. However, I'm a total newbie when it comes to DC. What I wanted to ask was this - Can anyone please tell me as to which issues I should probably download first? The problem's complicated as my connection has a 1 GB monthly limit, and I've already spent a quarter of it. Please guys, someone help me out. :1zhelp: Jam it back in, in the dark. |
What are the comics listed in that folder? Also, are you wanting chronology or greatness?
There's nowhere I can't reach. |

As for the rest, I'm looking forward to you guys helping me out. Since I don't have much experience with DC, I'd probably go for Greatness over chronology. Thanks a lot Acro-nym... :1zhelp: ![]() Most amazing jew boots

I suggest you start getting the Utimate Universe stuff first

Out of the ones I know (I must admit I haven't read a lot of these), I know that The Death of Superman is good, despite a few minor story and art items. The Return of Superman (which I hope includes the Reign of Supermen) is pretty good. I recommend JLA & Avengers.
I highly recommend The Nail (I haven't read the subsequent Another Nail, but I assume it's decent as well). Stan Lee creating the DC Universe is fun, usually good set of comics. The Justice story is a lot like Elseworlds, in that it doesn't tie into current continuity. My only problem with the comic so far is it's slow progress. Maybe it doesn't seem so slow when you can read all the issues within a short span of time. I know Lex Luthor-Man of Steel is well-liked, though I personally haven't read it. The same can be said for Superman Birthright. If Superman-Shazam is what I think it is (as in, their crossover recently), you can skip that. Not that it's bad, but it is a little bland. I'm sorry I can't help you more than that. Now I'm starting to think I need to read some of these... I was speaking idiomatically. |
If you're going for "Greatness" over chronology, go and get Superman - Secret Identity. I got interested in it because Happy had a lot of praise for it, and rightly so. It has absolutely no ties in with continuity or whatever, but it's a great read and a fun way to reimagine Superman.
Also, I read that "Realworlds - Justice League of America" and the conclusion was pretty nice and feel good-y. I could see a TV movie being made out of stuff like that. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
@ Acro-nym Thanks for the help man. I got all those you suggested, and am already hooked by "The Nail"... Will have to get through the others ASAP @ Sakabadger Will get them soon. Wonder what this month's net bill will be like... :ashamed: FELIPE NO
