NCSoft Sued for ID Theft

http://www.whatpc.co.uk/vnunet/news/...ft-victims-sue

You heard it folks, an MMO company getting sued over something like this.

I think the worst part that I read was about the Chinese Game Sweatshops.

Discuss.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The very fact that they refer to those sweatshops as "farming" is really disturbing.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It's an in-game term used in all MMOs. That's why...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Shit, I wouldn't mind getting paid to play an MMO, and I'm not even a real fan of them. But why call it a sweatshop? Do they have to reach a certain quota of levels before they can leave for the day or what?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Because you have to work multiple characters about 12 hours a day, doing nothing but farming and power-levelling. It gets HARD.

How ya doing, buddy?

if NCSoft is sucessfully sued, could mean a lot for other games; one game i used to play alot (but isn't very popular) is Pristontale and i know a number of people use korean IDs that they managed to find off the internet to create accounts so they can play on the korean servers.

some people actually like working in "chinese sweatshops" because they get to play games (boring or not, it's something to do) and earn a decent amount of money in return, just go to ebay and check out how many of the sellers are based in china. i saw a small article in a magazine somewhere and a guy said something along the lines of "we get paid to play games 24/7, how can you complain?"
