NEW Great Giana Sisters! (Nintendo approved, too!)
Hey, do you remember when some german dudes made this game called The Great Giana Sisters, who then got sued because "it looked like Super Mario? Of course you do! And now the sisters are back!
Sauced by NeoGAF, but I checked it on Gamespress.com, and it's genuine... Is this: A) Awesome? b) Awesome? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Did she....just grab something like a fire flower....?
Looks good...definitely reminding me of the old NES days... There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Heh, this looks kind of amusing. The Mario's influence is obvious, and I can even see a smudge of something taken from Sonic too (Holding down to look below, Giant Gem hidden in the stage).
80 Levels huh? I wonder how long the average level might be then? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
C) Awesome awesome
How completely out of nowhere! Looks wonderful! It needs to be June 2009 now, not in 2009! The fact that they mention the DS' microphone in the PR is a bit of a worry though, I hope you don't have to blow around the bubbles, I don't know how much saliva the DS can take! Spellbound's site has a few more screens. Hmm. Since Europe has the C64 on the Virtual Console, I wonder if they'll try and get the original game on it. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Wow, classy!
I remember playing that game at the age of <6. The graphics and music were better at that time - even those mean cat things looked more fierce and evil...wait, they're owls? Ah well, it's great to see they're giving that game a second chance. I was speaking idiomatically.

Looks like any of a million uninspired platformers to me. When's someone going to get hold of the Bitmap Bros back-catalogue and start releasing some decent old school games like Magic Pockets?
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
FELIPE NO |
The video reminds me of Mr. Nutz for some reason. I was just listening to an OCRemix from this game and wanted to play it again. Can't wait for it to come out.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Oh my god the music harks back to the C64 synth sound BEST EVER.
Hope they don't shoehorn scribbling and blowing into this, though. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Is this a remake or a new game in the series? I never would have imagined another GGS game would be made, especially for DS, since the original was more-or-less a knock off of Mario.
There's nowhere I can't reach.

also, I like turtles |
So some of the music is avaliable to Internet from the Internet now. Title theme's pretty much the best thing that'll ever explode forth from the DS' crappy little speakers. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
