Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Demo

Nothing much I can say but the new Fox Engine looks amazing in action.

Not a whole lot is known except it's Big Boss, once again and it looks like it takes place after Peace Walker. (I think, anyway)

IGN also has a 14 minute "extended" demo on their site:

Extended 14-Minute Gameplay Demo - Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (PS3) - IGN Video

Honestly I can't wait to hear more about this game and hope the release date isn't too heinous of a wait (like late 2014).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah, I definitely like how it looks. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what it can offer and if there will be any lag. Since it takes place after Peace Walker, I'm really hoping it doesn't borrow from it's predecessor...particularly leveling up your Tech staff and such, probably one of the reasons I didn't like it. Just keep it simple with on-site procurement.

Looking forward to this, more Peace Walker esque it seems than mgs4. Apparently this is a prequel to mgs5 and im glad this is coming to all systems instead of just ps3. Hopefully we get more info soon. Kojima-san <3

I read somewhere, I forgot where, that this is being developed with the 360 in mind. With Revengence coming out for the 360, I sure hope this gets a 360 release. I don't want to buy a PS3 just to play this game.

Other than that, I'm pretty excited that they're releasing a new MGS game!

At the end of the trailer it has the 360 logo and XBox Live with it, so I think it's safe to say this will be multiplatform.

Rising was just cancelled on the 360 in Japan. Looks like it was only over there and not here. I probably just got so excited over this gorgeous looking game, that I overlooked the 360 logo. Mah bad. :P

Rising was cancelled, yes, but Revengeance (sp) is on its way, which is essentially the same game (Raiden cutting things other than himself).

Ground Zeroes looks amazing, and from what the extended trailer and the commentary video mentioned the open world aspect as well as useable vehicles, two very awesome introductions to the series that will no doubt add a TON to the already pretty good gameplay from mgs4.

I think the original conception of MGS4 was that it was open world, or at least a destructive world where the setting was always changing due to war. Obviously there were limitations and we got what we got, but to see and hear that, yes, we will have some form of an open world to explore and sneak around is pretty exciting.

Also jeeps, who doesn't love driving JEEPS!?

That's fine, I was wrong as usual. No sweat. Someone can change it to the general plant or multi tag.

Holy cow, my first mod action in, like, a year.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I completely lost track of the MGS games after having still failed to play MGS3 about four years after buying it. Really should get round to that.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I've always enjoyed these games, even if I have to shamefully admit I've only ever played Metal Gear Solid and Snake Eater. Cool to see Big Boss again though, everything has evolved so much... Fuck I need a PS3

Hey OO!

You should also play Peacewalker. It's a great sequel to Snake Eater, and you get to play Big Boss.

I would like to get a PS3 too, probably when it gets a lot cheaper.

Vemp!

All I have is a Wii right now. Is Peacewalker available through a console (PS2?) now? The one I really want to get a PS3 for is the one where Solid Snake is a lot older due to advanced aging and at one point in the demo I saw he's fighting some sort of machine. I really want to get into this series a lot more.

I played Peacewalker on a PSP, I'm not sure if it's out on PS3/PSN (but it's on XBOX). I think you're talking about MGS 4 on PS3. I played that for a day at my friend's house and would like to be able to play it again (maybe if the PS3 gets cheaper). As much as a lot of people complained about MGS 4, I still enjoyed it a lot and is a pretty good game if you're following the MGS series.

Yes, Peace Walker is on PS3 as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection along with MGS2 and MGS3. It looks like Peace Walker HD edition might be available separately as a download purchase on the PSN store as well.
