Anyone watch the new show on NBC that premiered last week about the 20 lottery winners?
While some people might find it to be a mundane subject, I'm still fascinated by the different ways that the friends handle the money, probably because I never took interest in much of any TV drama other than this show, which I decided to start watching. Lots of spoilers around, since how each person decides to handle the money is the integral component of the plot. Looks like some plot lines that will be followed are: --- Beth + Cameron + Nina = the obligatory love "triangle", which leads to obvious issues of loyalty and desire. So far it looks like Nina is the level-headed one, Cameron is the conflicted one, and Beth is unfortunately in the middle. The mysterious past - one character has a mysterious past. (can't say more without Mega spoilers if you haven't seen the first episode) The minor - oh you can win it, but you can't collect.... The lucky one - this person just happened to partake in a whim, even though she isn't in the circle of friends. Where is she though? --- I just think it was an interesting concept, since I'm probably too young to remember if any similar attempts at shows like this were made before. Thoughts? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I watched both episodes that aired so far, and the show seems alright to me. I don't know how seriously I would have taken this show if it aired in the fall, but it's alright as a summer series. Some of the characters and storylines are a little cliche, but the whole main storyline (winning the lotto and the after effect) is pretty intruiging.
On another note, I was surprised to find myself watching a show on NBC, as I hardly ever watch that channel. Then of course, I learned that the show was originally supposed to be on FOX, but they passed on it and NBC picked it up instead. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
