[Anime] Murder Princess OVAs

With a title like this, I don't see why people should not take interest!

A violent and treacherous rebellion has claimed the life of the King of Forland. Unable to defend herself, Princess Alita is forced to flee the massacre in the castle but quickly loses her escorts as she flees though the wilderness. There she encounters the bounty Hunter Falis, with whom she accidentally switches bodies as they fall off a cliff.

With the powerful Falis in the princess' body they return to the castle to reclaim Alita's rightful throne. But now she is one of the world's bravest warriors: Alita, the murder Princess!

The unfortunate princess of the almost eradicated Forland kingdom.
After a supernatural event which causes her to switch bodies with a bounty hunter, her life takes a turn in an interesting direction.


Faris, the bounty hunter

Apparently only in it for the money, this bounty hunter eliminates monsters of all sorts.
However, a chance encounter with the princess of the region has drastically changed her life to force a new outlook.
Uses her katana, "Princess of the Cranes" to kill.


Dominikov, the sidekick

Along with Pete, seeming to be a loyal travelling companion to Faris.
Uses a scythe to kill.

Mysterious Robot Girls

The one on the right is Anna, who uses her rocket fists and knife arm to kill anyone who interferes with the plans of the traitor to the kingdom.
She decimates the entire castle with her hidden weaponry.
Uses a knife arm, and rocket punches to kill.


Mysterious Witch and Strongman

With the way they tease the viewers like that, you know they're the masterminds or top henchmen of this whole ordeal.
The witch uses a magic fire device to kill.

So Murder Princess actually has a fair amount of death and bloodshed in it early on. At least 5 characters with more than 10 seconds of screentime die in the first episode, plus a whole castle. Princess Alita is fortunately not the snobby, silver spoonfed type of princess, and Faris does not appear to be a complete cold-hearted emo mercenary. The villains are certainly interesting, and just who is in charge of all the discord will be a topic to ponder. You'll want to see an explanation as to why the two girls' bodies really switched. If nothing else, you'll probably get to see a princess ruthlessly murder the opposition.

I was going to download and all I've been hearing was negative shit about it. So it doesn't live up to anyone's expectations after all ,huh? Guess'll wait for the second episode next month so I don't bash it too hard. I did like the opening at least.

Well yeah, two people I talked to said it was awesome, but I just love the title more than anything about it actually. I did want a little more in the way of action, but maybe it'll live up to it's namesake over the next couple of months.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Well, it seems like good mindless fun. The plot point of the swapping souls seemed pretty forced, and I'm left wondering what the princess will do now. She seems totally useless and perhaps was only in the show to somehow make the killer swordswoman a princess.

I must say though, Pete amuses me, and for some reason reminds me of Hellboy. Meanwile Dominikov is ripping off Ghost Rider's bike and the mysterious strongman does the "single glowing red eye from within a dark helm" just like Nightmare in Soul Calibur. I wonder if it's all intentional?
