Biohazard 10th Anniversary & Devil May Cry 5th Anniversary Special

http://www.capcom.co.jp/10th5th/

To celebrate Resident Evil/Biohazard's 10th anniversary and Devil May Cry's 5th anniversary Capcom are releasing a limited edition "Anniversary Special" DVD both titles histories and landmark events. The only way to get the DVD is to purchase one of the 4 re-releases for the PS2 that includes RE4, Code: Veronica X, Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 3. As a bonus RE4, C:V X and DMC also have the soundtracks included.

Biohazard celebrated it's 10th anniversary on March 22nd:

Devil May Cry will celebrate it's 5th anniversary on August 23rd:

http://www.capcom.co.jp/10th5th/devil.html

Capcom more than likely won't bother with such a thing for their US releases so I'm tempted to pick up these re-releases. I especially like the new cover arts for RE4 and DMC but then the Japanese version of Devil May Cry had a much better cover art than the US version to begin with.

Still, 10 and 5 years? It was primarily Resident Evil that convinced me to get a Playstation in the first place after renting it constantly and playing it on a friend's system without a memory card...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Man I really want the DVD! I hope someone at least rips the videos out or something.

I hope they do this here, if only because I've been thinking about re-buying Code Veronica as of late (Although I was leaning toward the GCN version, so I could have the complete set for GCN.), and this could be just the thing I need to spur that purchase.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

They better do something for the 10th anniversary of RE in the US. If not I'll be forced to rouse the angry mob.

I also found the nullification of DMC2 amusing, but not nearly as amusing as how Capcom apologizes for it every single day.

And I still don't forgive them for it, because DMC2 was truly horrible. But the real horror is wondering how they screwed up such an awesome series so badly in just its 2nd iteration. DMC3 was a great game that fixed every problem (except that DMC2 Dante had a cooler outfit), but it only puts the series on an even track. We'll have to see what they do with DMC4 before we can remain confident that Dante can only go higher.

They screwed up cause they switched developing teams, and the team working on DMC obviously didn't know what the hell they're doing. The DMC1 team were working on Chaos Legion, which is a much better game than DMC2 by comparison.

roh didn't know that was DMC1 team that did chaos legion (love this game XD)

I wonder if they do a "remake" of the 2 or if dmc4 will follow like dmc2 never existed >.>

They'll probably just ignore it, it's alot more work to fix DMC2 than to ignore it.

If this were to happen in America, I'd jump on it. Even though I love both RE4 and DMC, I've yet to purchase them myself. But as things are, I have no use for Japanese games.

It's interesting how these two go together, since DMC was originally planned to be RE4.

Is that why in the early video of RE4 that's floating around the 'net, makes the game look more along the lines of Silent Hill, than Resident Evil?

yeah they change RE4 story like 5 time before ending with what we got, and yes the first version was with some "black cloud ghost".

Code:Veronica was thought to be RE4 by the press for awhile and was rumoured to be titled as Resident Evil 4 for a short time in production, DMC was created from an early RE4 beta/concept and DMC3 also bore some ideas from early versions of RE4, so all titles in this re-release have links to RE4.

I never heard the reports that DMC3 had taken cues from early RE4 development. I mean I know it's possible, I just don't see how the two games are connected in any way gameplay wise.

I'd definitely buy this if it came to the US, but Japan always gets the good RE exclusives
