Footage of UFO from the space shuttle?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gaUD...fo%20sightings

Pay attention to the top left/center of the video. An object seems to be moving along in one direction, then suddenly turns at a right angle and speeds off.

I don't know about you, but nothing I studied in astronomy has ever been known to do the kind of thing that object did in the video. The fact that this was taken on a space shuttle too also makes you wonder if the government really is hiding aliens and what not (probably for our sake, cause you can imagine the chaos that would erupt if people suddenly found out that there are aliens, and they've already visited us).

Then again, maybe it was a really well done amateur video.

What do you think it is?

Also, here's an interesting link to a guy who says he's seen a UFO (and worked for the army):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2-6N...sure%20project

Considering where he is, I don't think he's making too much up...he says there's a lot that were "humanoid" in appearance, and I suddenly remember something I was told in my Western Great Lakes Native American philosophy class that Native Americans have already encountered aliens, and they were human-like in appearance.

Sure, it could just be crazy talk, but again, it's a big universe out there...

Here is the full video that I got that clip of the army sergeant in. It's quite long though, so I hope you're willing to sit down for 2 hours to watch it (it's 115 minutes, just a little under 2 hours):

Hrm, that ex-army guy mentions the 'greys', and I've heard things here and there about 'greys' from a friend of mine and various other folks on the internets. Surprisingly, alot of what I've heard does tie into all the things these 'officials' are revealing... Just some food for thought

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Let's assume evolutionary theory is correct. The odds that life would evolve somewhere else in the universe are pretty sparse to begin with, despite the mind numbing amount of space. For life to evolve somewhere else, and for that life to have any physical similarity to any creature on earth is a completely ridiculous concept. Any talk of alien life with humanoid characteristics can pretty safely be dismissed as bad craziness.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Bullshit I call. Sure I can't explain the first video, it is an UFO in the sense that it is unidentified, but it shows little of being alien origin.

The army guy, well if it's coming from human memory, I'll take it with a grain of salt. The human memory has a way of distorting facts and falasies and accepting them as true. Perhaps why eyewitness accounts is not always used in court.

I do believe that there is other life out there. The universe is just simply too large for us to be the only ones. Now are they as or more intelligent than us? I have no idea. It took our solar system about 4.6 billion years to form, 3.9 for Earth. The universe is nearly 14 billion years old. So in that time frame, it could be possible for life to have begun before ours even started, give them millions or even billions of years head start. And considering that the stars we see in the sky are what they looked like billions or millions of years ago, alot can happen between then and now.

Yeah I pretty much said the same thing in the last thread about aliens.

I was speaking idiomatically.

(Editing to add this to my first post as well)

Here is the full video that I got that clip of the army sergeant in. It's quite long though, so I hope you're willing to sit down for 2 hours to watch it (it's 115 minutes, just a little under 2 hours). Keep in mind this press conference was done on May 9, 2001, before 9/11 even happened.

Okay, the one army guy talking was just one of the many people who are coming forward with this. When you watch that video in whole, it's hard to discredit each and every one of them and say that they're nuts/crazy/want attention.

I got the UFO link from another site, but looking farther down, I saw a link to that 2 hour video, and having watched it, I've come to the conclusion that the government does know about this stuff, but they just don't want to say anything because people would start panicking and rioting in the streets if suddenly our leaders were saying that we weren't alone in the universe (and had evidence to back it up).

Some of the things I remembered them talking about was that the aliens visiting us had no hostile intent towards us, but also seemed to be warning us against building space-based weapons (and several of them say that after seeing those UFO's, the nuclear missiles near where they were suddenly malfunctioned and wouldn't work).

Some of them also say that the technology they recovered from some of these aliens are far, far, far, more advanced than ours, and if used for peaceful purposes, would eliminate global warming and human reliance on fossil fuels.

Some of them also say they saw UFO's which did stuff similiar to that footage of the UFO as well, where it sped at a insanely fast speed, then stopped on a dime, and then seemed to veer into a right angle (or something like that) and go off into another direction. With several different people saying that stuff, you can't just automatically dismiss what they saw either (there was also another video I saw where a Mexican helicopter recorded something flying similiarly into the sky, where it went horizontally, then stopped, and shot up vertically at a super fast speed. I'll link it when I can find it, unless someone else can do it first).

I would say these people are just nuts. But they seem very sincere and honest, and they seem geniunely concerned that we're gonna do something stupid and probably get ourselves killed first (again, like building space based weapons. What good are nuclear missiles against biological hazards? Esp. if the aliens can stop the missiles from working at all?)

At first, I agreed with comment this and was going to reply. Then I figured I would just watch the video first. It is beyond ridiculous to believe what he was saying, I mean, aliens that could be mistaken for humans when walking down the street. Utter bullshit, but at least it made me lol.

Well, they started from a primordial soup just like everyone else. Who knows, it's possible the evolutionary process might tend towards humanoids.

However, the possibility of such an intelligent civilization evolving within even remotely the same time period as humans though, much less discovering interstellar in time to get here before we're extinct, is much more slim I would say.

Based on the evolutionary theory, it is pretty likely that there is life out there other than us. There are millions of galaxies and trillions of planets. The chance that they are intelligent enough to space-travel is another thing, but other life is pretyt likely.
