Where to take my cousins (they don't talk much)
I have two cousins (one girl and one boy) that don't talk and are very quite because they are shy or something. Any suggestions on places to take them out and have fun?
Taking them to the movies is bad idea as it ended with nobody talked at all except from when I asked them questions about the movie. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Quiet cousins?
How about engaging them in some gaming? (Unless they couldn't care less about video games and such) Might sound weird, but how about a trip to the library if they like reading books more than talking? A nearby park might bring out some hidden joy if you guys get involved in a game of some sort. Maybe just a plain walk-and-talk (with your initiative) could get things started. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The guy likes scifi movies and horror movies.
The girl likes chemistry. I'm not sure they like games...They don't like malls either... I'm a little bit shy myself, but I do talk when it gets too quite. They don't even say a word... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

It's called ARCADES... Plenty of scary shit to shoot at with a plastic gun there.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Otters at the zoo! If no one squeals with delight you can safely assume that they're arn't your cousins at all and infact ZOMBIES!
I was speaking idiomatically. |
These two cousins brother and sister I suspect?
If gaming and cinema won't do I can't really think what will. With three there isn't enough for doubles tennis (who wants to be singles umpire?) or enough to put together a soccer squad. I think perhaps an amusement park maybe? How ya doing, buddy? |
Perhaps a museum? Art or science or history? You could probably be able to engage them in conversation there.
FELIPE NO |
Heh, the one thing that worked on me was a baseball game. I'm normally introverted and quiet, but for some reason... I stood up and cheered everytime the Twins hit a homerun.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I would have suggested any shopping areas, but since you mentioned that they don't like malls, perhaps any sporting events might work. It may encourage some conversation as you watch a game together in a loud environment.
Otherwise, I think you should just try to start conversations with them whenever you have the opportunity. I've met many quiet cousins, and by the end of one week, I was able to open them up a bit more. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
I took them to bowling and then arcade. I managed to make them talk a little

Well if they're into chemistry, scifi and horror, take them to a museum and you can discuss about all the cool things later. If they're shy, they probably get intimidated out in public so just try to ask them things that they might want to talk about like their interests.
I can't remember back when I used to be shy, I must have been such a pain in the ass since I don't like dealing with shy people now ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
