I'm all Thumbs
I've been getting blank, useless thumb files whenever I move or copy my files in my PC. I took some screenshots to illustrate the problem.
![]() ![]() I believe I had this problem once before, but I forgot how to fix it. Help, please. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
"thumbs" (it's real name is thumbs.db) is a file windows creates to store thumbnails in.
Notice when you first enter a folder full of images it takes a while to see the thumbnails? This is because windows is reading each image, generating a thumbnail, and storing it in the thumbs.db file. The next time you enter the folder, windows just reads the thumbs.db file instead of having to go through every image again. It's harmless. How ya doing, buddy? |
If you want, you go into that folder, go to Tools -> Options and hide hidden or system files. Then you won't keep seeing thumbs.db.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
