What was your first CD/album?

I was just rummaging through my old music and I came across a relic:

Kris Kross - Totally Krossed Out

That was the first CD I ever owned. I couldn't believe how rebellious they were, with their backwards shirts AND PANTS. Truly, they were legends of their time.

What was the first CD/album you ever owned?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Still one of my all-time favourites to this day.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

One of the first tapes that I ever purchased was Big Shiny Tunes 4. This was around Grade 6 or 7 when I really started to care for music at all. Actually wasn't until around high school that I started to regularly listen to anything at all.

Ah... good old tape.

Spiderwebs changed my life. I bought some albums on tape and stuff before that but I bought them just to have them, like I used to buy movie soundtracks just because I had heard of the movie. But Spiderwebs was the first song I ever heard that I really liked personally, and Tragic Kingdom was the first album I bought for myself and not to show off.

I was speaking idiomatically.

The first tape I owned was Baltimora - Living In The Background. I bought it when I was still living in Mexico and back then it rocked my world! Now it doesn't seem so hot as it was back then. This is one of those albums that's only great if you listen to it by yourself because your friend will immediately have fuel to ridicule you if they catch you.

I lost the tape long ago and it's hard as hell to find on CD.

Final Fantasy IX OST - Impressive stella deus medieval style VGM. It has some of the best battle themes in the series as well.

My first albums were on cassette tape. I owned a Beach Boys tape, Led Zepplin II, and Genesis' Invisible Touch, featuring a favorite of mine at the time, Land of Confusion. I have no doubt that I loved that song so much because the video was rad.

My Kris Kross cd suffers from the same problem, unfortunately.

I don't remember much else from back then. I clearly remember Kris Kross because I said to myself that day - "I will always remember this as my first CD." The only other music I remember getting around that time was Snow - Informer on cassette.

Everythng from then up until the early days of Korn is a blur to me.

The first ablum i ever got was given to me as a gift. It was Big Shiney Tunes 2, for my birthday in grade 6, or maybe grade 5, i can't remember. It was that CD that got me into caring about music.

The first album i ever bought myself was Human Clay by Creed. Yeah, i went through a big Creed thing when i was a kid, and i don't mind them even now.

I believe either foreigners greatest hits or a tape of the Green Day album Insomnia was my first. Hard to remember back that far really but it was clearly before I had developed anything resembling taste.

The very first legit CD I've ever owned was Daft Punk: Discovery. Since then, I've doubled my collection to 2 legit CDs that I owned (the other one being the 24 Soundtrack).

I've never been big on buying music. I always make bootleg CDs, and before that I just used to borrow them from friends all the time.

First CD I ever bought was R.E.M.'s Out of Time. Still holds up today, although New Adventures in Hi Fi, Reveal, and others have eclipsed it.

<3 That was the first music CD I bought, too. A week after I bought it on cassette, we got a CD player. MUST TEST OUT SUCH SHINY TECHNOLOGY! What's annoying is I still have the cassette kicking around somewhere, but I lost the CD years ago.

My first album was bought for me. It was Queen: Platinum Collection. This 3 CD collection consists of Queen's three greatest hits CDs.
Still listen to it occasionally.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
