Dialpad used to have this feature until they went corporate. As far as I know, this is the first internet application to do this in a number of years. Think it'll change the way you make calls? Think Skype can gain momentum to take on major telecom companies? The Internet, along with it's current network-layer protocol, is quite a bad base to run telephone services.
Its best-effort approach doesn't guarantee the required bandwidth for real-time applications, it's too unstable for that. IPv6 may change that, though. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
